Glad you had a better experience in Quorn . Last time I tested VoLTE it was working in both Quorn and Mountsorrel, and EE's website says Leicestershire is one of the latest locations to get VoLTE, so they're currently testing it there and it's worked well for me so far. It won't be long before the whole network supports VoLTE.
Thanks for asking, and no worries! Yeah, it was a much better experience this year than last year, as last year I had no data at all, but this year I got at least 3Mbps, mostly faster than that though. 4G was faster, at 30Mbps.

4G at my home address has dropped down in speed, possibly since eveyone is now getting a stronger signal, though 3G has improved. Both 3G and 4G are about 20Mbps down, with 4G having faster uploads than 3G.

I don't know why 4G is using single speed at the moment though. Does it usually take a while before 4G goes to full speed?

Probably backhaul issues that need resolving. Could be daisy chained MW with a slow link in the chain.

I thought that it would be backhaul related, but there isn't any obvious reason, because 3G has always done 15-20Mbps on average...

I've never noticed any MW's on the mast either, though I had a look on Google Maps, and in 2009 (the last map update in the area), there was a single micro on one side of the mast. Don't know whether it is for sending somewhere else (i.e. to another mast), receiving backhaul (from another mast) or whether it was O2, T-Mobile or Three, as in 2009, all 3 operators had separate panels. (Obviously, due to MBNL, T-Mob/EE and Three use the same panels, at the top of the mast.)

Here is the mast, from 2009:
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/...4!4d-0.5944559

Top panels are Three/MBNL. Middle panels no longer exist, were T-Mob. Bottom panels were O2, though O2 now use the Vodafone/CTIL mast nearby.

Ex-Vodafone (now CTIL, with new panels) mast:

For the millionth time - masts are single speed for a couple of weeks after they are upgraded.

Sorry, got a puncture on the LDV. Will be around in a minute to boost the capacity. Just finishing my Ginsters Steak Slice thing while the AA lady changes the wheel. Moving back to cross ply tyres as although I get less grip under heavy cornering / acceleration, they keep the mast on the roof more vertical. It's an official EE trial.

Just one more post on EE at Drownload. Based on the various cell info apps, it looks like EE had their CoW back in the spot favored by T-Orange back in the day. Also showed me connecting to a cell that doesn't appear to be upgraded yet going by EE's ever more out of date map. Speeds were good last night though, the deep mud didn't seem to effect them! Many thanks bookey!

Not always. Several sites here still on 30Meg months and months after upgrade.
Mine, went live in November.
Big ex Orange mast over Totnes went live 2 days before Christmas
Both still capped at 30Mbps.
There are others here though.

I've just gone into service mode on my S4 and it shows the download bandwidth for LTE1800 (band3) as 20MHz - so I am assuming that my mast will eventually go to full speed 4G.

I remember you saying about your Orange masts being upgraded, wasn't your local mast waiting on a backhaul upgrade, after being in a daisy chain of micros? Have they done the backhaul upgrade yet? (I'm guessing that something as big and complex as a backhaul upgrade, would take possibly months to complete.)

Im aware of a mast in a small town centre that is single speed still, went 4G in 2013, probablty waiting for other upgrades. it was 2x10mhz then when the orange code went in the area it became 2x20 but the speeds are 30mbps.

Loads like this in Gloucester. Most of the city centre is still green on the map. Usually 4-5mbps at best during the day and have seen it quite regularly around the sub-1mbps mark

I didn't say that every mast would go double speed. I said that masts are single speed when they first get switched on.

Not being funny here or anything, : ) and I will say that was what I and many others thought too for a long time but that is also not the case. Since the big roll out push down here (the last year or so), quite a few have come on at full speed right away. There are three within 2 miles of me.

They are all 20Mhz now (a full LTE carrier).
20Mhz is the bandwidth you have between the cell antenna and your handset.
It has nothing to do with the backhaul to the mast.
Your handset and cell can communicate at up to 150Mbps but the MW link to the site may be legacy 150Mbps (for all 3 sectors) waiting on upgrade. in this case the site is throttled to 30Mbps per handset (normally, as this may vary) so one handset can't swamp the link.

I've had Wifi Calling working for a month or two now on my LG G5.

It's always suffered from cut outs, sometimes worse than others, usually only for half a second every 6 or 7 but sometimes I have to turn my wifi off and redial to get an acceptable connection.

This happened this morning and I noticed the phone stayed on 4G to make the call. Awesome. Except the same problem I've had with wifi calling came back. Turned the 4G off and dropped to H+ and could make calls perfectly.

A common issue? Bangor, North Wales

Heard several reports now that WC is a bit iffy on some Android handsets.
No idea why this is. iPhones have no such issues.
My 6 does great WiFi calls and will hand the call over to VoLTE which is pretty neat!

Can I at least assume that if I'm being allowed onto VoLTE and Wifi Calling, they'll also let me onto the 800Mhz? Haven't been keeping up with this thread the last few weeks

Probably because with Apple there's one IP calling stack and therefore it only needs to be tested once, and can be tested extensively

In the Android world there's no consistency at all so every phone might have strange quirks or bugs

Anything wrong with EE's website today? Been with EE almost a year, I get my bill on the 15th and always had it by 6-7am but today there's still no sign of it. I need the bill to claim my last Cashback instalment before I try and get a better deal.

Chat and phone customer service state my bill has been generated so no idea why I can't access it.

I had to wait an extra day this month for my bill. No idea why...

Yeah it eventually came through and I got retentions to give me unlimited minutes, texts and 20GB data for £19.99 with the minutes and texts usable in the EU.

Beats paying £23 for 6GB.

Does the iPhone 6 do CA because this seems rather fast.

Field Test shows band 7.

A very quick search says:

iPhone 6 Smartphone 150 Mbit/s
LTE Advanced with 2x10 MHz Carrier Aggregation
Qualcomm MDM9625 LTE-A modem.
