Don't know if you've read this interview with Helen but I've only just found it, was done just after the Strictly tour finished.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/c...eveals-7530365

She did it to promote a skincare product but she covers a range of topics and there's some lovely little nuggets of information with typical Helen humour. "I'm not one of those girls who can go make-up free . . . I look like a mouse if I don't use anything". A little sad she says she may not continue with ballroom dancing although she describes her time on Strictly as "joyous" and "I might do the splits after a few glasses of wine, but that used to happen before, to be honest . . . ".

She discusses Call The Midwife, how it started out as a job that meant she didn't have to waitress that summer and it went on from there. How the cast get on so well it feels like a rep company now and they all socialise and she sounds so down to earth when discussing what makes her happy in life
So true. Very genuine person.

Yes please! Would love to hear your review
I could have sworn I answered your post last night, because I remember adding something about Tim Peake tweeting about one of Pixie's songs from space. Oh well, never mind, perhaps that part of it was considered off topic.

I was going to say that Pixie really is a very good performer, and I enjoyed revisiting her dances thanks to your links. In fact, that led me to the rest of her dances as well!

The reviews for her in Breakfast at Tiffany's are very positive, so this makes me look forward to it even more.

Glad you enjoyed the links, yes I've been watching their other dances too, earlier their Viennese Waltz to 'Tulips from Amsterdam' (Trent in Lederhosen, the costume department threw everything at him)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YSal7ItkWw

I was listening to a recording of Pixie's version of 'Moon River', I love her voice and she very much has her own style, puts her stamp on it as she says she plans to do in the article. I'm sure she'll give a fabulous performance, hope you enjoy the show

I was disappointed he wasn't back with a celeb last series, I don't know why. I hold out hope he might be back this year with Gordana too but I don't know how likely that is. I did see on Pixie's social media that they'd been to watch her perform in BAT, they still seem really friendly.

aah, Trent and Pixie

Loved their dances. She was talented, he was a great choreographer and they were so nice together. Love their foxtrot, one of the few SCD FTs that I really like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjDL...&nohtml5=False. My favourite dance from them was the Halloween tango.

Btw, Pixie's dress in the VW is my idea of a princess dress. I love it!

I was really surprised that Pixie did Strictly - am I being cynical when I say that it's usually done as a career boost for the celebrities? If the answer is yes then it doesn't detract from my enjoyment of it. I'm not really a big follower of the charts (to the extent that I don't even know if they exist or are still called that) but I thought Pixie was a pretty big star. That said, I thought she was a lovely dancer and left too early.

It's gorgeous isn't it, my girls said exactly the same yesterday when watching

Ah yes their 'Hair Tango' another of my favourites too, Pixie's electric shock barnet, Trent rocking those trousers . . . but in all seriousness I just love the choreography and she danced and acted this brilliantly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3oJGdK7HgA

I was a big fan of Trent's choreography, the inventive little moments, humour and sections of interplay between them he put in alongside the traditional steps.

EDIT: Just seen your post Lou. I think Pixie always wants to try new things as a performer, same as now with her role in BAT.

Me too.

I suppose that he and Pixie gained from SCD in that both did a quartet musical/dance thing the next year. She has moved onto becoming more of a performer than just pop star though she continues with her music. The loss of Trent after only one series was a bitter disappointment to me as was losing Pixie and Trent in the competition.

I think in terms of chart positions, Pixie's music career was most successful 2009 - 2012 and started to go downhill after that. By the time she did Strictly I wouldn't really have called her a big star, but as others have said she seemed to be branching out into other things with small acting parts etc. If she is getting good reviews in BAT that's probably a good direction for her to go in as its pretty hard to be successful in the charts these days.

As far as I know Trent was asked back to Strictly but wanted Gordana to be included too. A pity as he was a great addition to the show, I would love him to be asked back.

To be perfectly honest I had a very small memory of Trent and Pixie but having followed your links I have enjoyed their dances - I think in that series I was a big Simon Webbe and Kristina fan.
However, their Charleston was very less than impressive:

But to be fair I think the music was totally inappropriate.

Loved their Tango ( great hair ! ) and their Samba was super.

Could this be the year they are both asked back ?

Thanks Ellie. Good luck to her in BAT, she seems a natural for that role.

They might be - I liked Trent's choreography.

I couldn't warm to DVO on Strictly. I felt sorry for her because she got so much flack about her dancing background but I couldn't see many likeable qualities. She had that hard and brittle edge that people sometimes have when they've been in "show biz" for that number of years.

Caroline has a new radio deal apparently :

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...-X-Factor.html

I can see her doing well at this, she has the personality to carry off
DJ-ing.

Pleased to hear about that, and co-presenting with fellow Strictly alumn Gethin lucky lady. They'll be great together (he's a good interviewer when he guests on ITT, I was a fan of his partnership with Camilla when he did Strictly).

Caroline's an accomplished presenter and full of personality. When I posted on the other thread I wasn't keen on her on Xtra Factor it was the self indulgent jokes between Caroline, Olly and crew that irritated me rather than Caroline herself. Though a big fan of Pixie and Trent during that series I warmed to Caroline as well and supported her in the final. She showcased herself so well and I was disappointed she went straight back to XFactor (which I understand from skipping through a few SOS articles wasn't a success, I stopped watching XFactor a while back). Great to hear she's moving on to new opportunities.

I am glad that Gethin has something in the pipeline. I thought he was ill-used by the PTB at the BBC.

Having just had a quick scan of the SOS I'm going to qualify my above post by saying Caroline really needs to stop with the public saucy selfies. She was apparently on a photo shoot this time but still....at the same age as Caroline yes I know it's judgemental of me but she's not in her 20s anymore and it does come across as a bit desperate.

Totally agree. I follow Caroline on Instagram and had a groan to myself when I saw that. She has genuine talent as a presenter and real career prospects so there's no need.
