Yes but I cant remember what they were talking about at that point. Had they done Celebrity Leicester Squares by then?
I haven't got a clue !!
They were on about some film director spotted in reception and were taking bets on the reaction of someone when she heard the news ??
Don't think it went according to plan as she didn't react either way ----- at that point I thought "this ain't for me " and changed channel.
Please don't explain what Celebrity Leicester Squares is !!
Regards

I also think the Moyles and Vaughan thing is overstated. They are not too bad with each other nowadays. I loved it when Chris was laughing about how Vaughan had turned up for his show over an hour late because he'd fallen asleep.
Was Johnny Vaughn really an hour late for his show recently because he overslept?! If that’s true I can’t blame Moyles for making fun of him – Vaughn’s show starts at 4pm, compared to Moyles’s at 6:30am!

I also agree that the rivalry between them seems fairly non-existent these days (although it was largely one-sided as Vaughn never really responded). I suspect that might be at the request of Radio X management. If you want a fun example of DJs at the same station all hating each other look no further than Howard Stern, Don Imus, and Soupy Sales at WNBC in New York in the mid-80s. They HATED each other, often phoning each other in the air and arguing – Stern even used to phone up Imus’s wife on the air.

Ross Buchanan tweeted that this weekend is his last 5 and a half hour show, 4 hours next weekend. New weekend brekfast being launched with a 6 am start perhaps...?

That's my fault, I put Ellis & James first. It's been a long week.

Why hasn't Global done a bigger thing about the weekend changes and why isn't the schedules updated? Shocking....

Is a bit odd, all we seem to know so far is;

Ross get's a 4 hour overnight show but is it 1-5 or 2-6?

Ricky moves to Sun 11-2, so would suggest two shows between Ross and Ricky, 1 could be best of JV but sounds like 1 new show.

Ellis and John move to 1-4pm Sat, so again two new shows between Ross and Ellis/John.

So 3 new shows, question is are these by new presenters? Imagine there has to be a best of Moyles as having a best of drivetime without a best of breakfast seems odd. My prediction;

LB Fri/Sat 10pm-2am
RB Sat/Sun 2-6am
New weekend breakfast Sat 6-10am/Sun 6-9am
Best of Moyles Sat 10-1am
Best of JV Sun 9-11am

So who's the new weekend breakfast host...

Moyles Saturday 10-1! Albeit a best of, its been about 15 years since he did that slot on R1! That will take me back!

Edit: If that prediction comes true.

Yes he left that slot in 2001 as his drive show increased from a tiny 1.75 hours slot to 2.75 hours due to Simon Mayo leaving Radio 1.

Moyles was replaced on Saturday mornings by Heart's Jamie Theakston.

Global radio the home of ex Radio 1 DJs not wanted by Radio 2! (Moyles, Vernon, Jamie Theakston, JK & Joel, Gary King, Tim Westwood)

Interesting. A new 10-1 Saturday show to "cover off" Russell Kane on Virgin?

Weekends do appear to be about comedians on guitar led music stations, Frank Skinner, Ellis and John, Russel Kane, Rob Beckett, Jason Manford.

However would Radio X really have one comedian led show 10-1 followed by another 1-4?

Not sure a best of Moyles is really big enough for the prime 10-1 slot, amybe he'll slot in earlier with a bigger name 10-1, be interesting to see who.

Shame Ellis and John have been demoted although Saturday afternoons was traditionally a comedians slot on XFM so hopefully will work for them, hoep they're not just being shuffled off to work out their contracts like Jon Holmes and Ian Camfield.

So Gordon Smart... again.

And seven days of Johnny Vaughan. Who would've thought it's he we'll hear non-stop and not Moyles?

Good news for Johnny Vaughan fans, as it looks like he'll be on 7 days a week!

A great idea to capitalise on his TalkSport success with the new Saturday morning show.

And, as I've said in the past, well worth them taking a punt on 'best of' shows at breakfast time rather.

This is a schedule change aimed at attacking Absolute and attracting their audience;

Moyles and Vaughan put in direct competition with Absolutes comedians on 8-11am.
A sports show added again to compete with rock and roll football.

What I'm most pleased about is the reduction in standard shows with normal playlist (which is too repetitive) and generic presenters, we now get Sat 8am-7pm and Sun 8am-1am with either a personality led show or a show with non standard playlist, the best of british and x list shows with Jo Good are a nice addition.

Not sure about the difference between the x-list and best of British, is the latter just a British only x list?

Not that their paths will cross much, but is all good between Moyles and Gordon Smart? I remember a huge Moyles-rant about him on R1.
