Some new content (albeit pre-recorded) will certainly help attract listeners who already listened during the week. Much like they do with the podcast. And the good thing with Moyles is if you ask him for a few minutes of extra content you’ll probably get about 20 minutes worth, as is the case with the podcast.
Also makes me wonder if they will increase the size of his team to allow for the additional work as it feels like they need at least one more person on the team. Surprised Dave M has to also produce that other show at the weekend given how much effort he has to spend on the breakfast show as well. |

Which makes me wonder if the podcast will suffer and just become a smaller edit of the Sat show given Moyles has said they don't get paid to do the podcast.

As for increasing the size of his team, if they do it’ll be additional behind the scenes production staff so we won’t hear any difference on air. But I would have thought they’d want Dave Masterman to do it for consistence purposes... and if he’s already selecting highlights for the podcast this could just be an extension on that piece of work. |

I hope the podcast doesn’t suffer as a result. I wouldn’t mind the same ‘extra material’ being used for the Saturday radio show and the podcast (or the same highlights), I just hope the podcast doesn’t become shorter so as not to take listeners away from the Saturday show. Equally I wouldn’t mind if they held of releasing the podcast until after the Saturday show.

Overnight show which just finished was 7 hours long isn't that an excessive show length? Another problem with their lack of presenters available to do cover.

I guess the Ross Buchanan wasn't available and that was the easiest option? Early Sunday morning must be about as dead as it gets for the X audience who are unlikely to be up.
Big cockup during the first Moyles Saturday show yesterday - New Order "Regret" played at the same time as a link, sounded a right mess. Looking at Twitter most seemed to think it was intentional and were telling him to shut up and play the song! |

Jack Saunders gets breakfast that's a big slot for him, think any of the other 4 would have been better suited.

6.30 till 10 on a Bank Holiday Monday morning on a station that isn't on FM in most areas a big slot? Reality check needed...
We'll see in a few weeks how big Radio X is but it wnet national on D1 to try and capture a large audience, they must have invested heavily as I don't imagine Moyles, JV, Vernon or Ricky Wilson come cheap. |

On a good month, Vaughan gets paid £24K from all his jobs combined Quote:
Hasn’t Chris Moyles hinted that’s he’s being paid more for his Radio X breakfast show than he was being paid for his Radio 1 breakfast show? Or maybe I’ve imagined that.
Johnny Vaughan was in court in late November last year (for driving offences). He has to declare that on a good month he earns £24K, so that’s potentially £288K a year. I know he’ll have other income, but most of that is probably his Radio X salary. And that’s for a drive time show, I suspect a breakfast show and more high profile host could demand significantly more. So I suspect Global can, if it wants to, exceed any BBC salary (partly because it’s not using the public’s money to do so). |

BBC Wales
Stand-up comedian, radio presenter and huge Wales football fan Elis James will give a fan’s eye view of Euro 2016 Wonder why they don't use some of the weekend DJs as cover for Vernon, Dan and Johnny. Always Phil Clifton. Sure Ellis and John could fill in for Johnny. Clint Boon for Dan O'C/Vernon/ |

Chris is off again this week, Vernon's standing on with Dave, Dom and Pippa.
Might have to listen to the previous evening's Iain Lee podcast of a morning. |

Anyone know what will the Saturday show be?
Moyles live on a Saturday? Vernon's highlights from the week? |

Chris said they would be on as usual next weekend (with an hour of the platinum hour again) I'm assuming he get extra time off for all the pre-records

Moyles great this morning
Such a different show this morning which shows how good Moyles is.
No other music station took the Cameron resignation speech live. Not even Radio 2 good on them for doing something different. The tone was just right, very balanced, none of the doom and gloom of the news based stations. Good decison to up the news to every 30 mins, this was probably same across the Global stations |

Scott Mills was on instead
An interview with Dizzie Rascal at the time of the speech Or was it all glossed over, I thought there was a lot of fuss the voice of the young not being heard by politicians, is this because their radio station is more interested in talking to a pop star rather than discussing probably the biggest uk political event in their lifetimes? Surely a breakfast Newsbeat special would have been justified. |
