I did think so was a joke, the Doctor would dump her for being annoying and then get the real companion... but nope it was her

My prediction for 2017: An underwhelming series and an annoying companion who doesn't gel.

Well, to be fair, that's precisely what RTD did with Donna. It's just that for some baffling reason, a lot of people seemed to enjoy it.

I'm so glad it will be Moffat's last series

Seemed a bit too chavvy for my liking.

I'll wait to judge her on more than a 30 second clip though...I did that once with Catherine Tate and ended up loving her.

Reminds me of the usual suspects who every week said "this is the worst episode ever" before the episode started, about 20 times during the episode and even more times after the episode had finished

I spent the whole time watching the clip hoping it was a fake out and the Daleks were in fact going to 'Kill Bill'.. And that the real companion would be introduced at the end. Alas not. Not looking forward to this one bit.

There have been some very odd castings in films & TV over the years, but they turn out to be something special. This could be one of those castings.

Ah the cheese, the cheese.....

I'm sorry but I thought that clip was embarrassing, it was a spiritual cousin to the production of the old Power Rangers series.... I wish they wouldn't do that it just gives the impression that Doctor Who is cheap... just announce who the actress is, what's the need for the tacky pomp when announcing cast members.. self importance at its worst..

I don't think we can judge to soon on the companion, this really isn't a great indicator as to what the series will be like, as even Capaldi came across bad in this clip, but first impression was that she didn't impress me or make me look forward to her, but like I said I think we should give her the benefit of doubt.. her first episode will be the real test....

I really think this clip was a bad idea though, IMO, at-least it was for me, I would of been more excited just to hear who was cast rather than have some dodgy lame thrown together skit as a way to introduce the new companion, its a bad choice for a first introduction.

They only got away with that by having her in 4 episodes and making it seem Freema quit.

14% of the UK population is from an ethnic background, and for under 10's this is closer to 25%.

I was the same with Tate, but by putting that clip out we've pretty much been asked to judge Pearl/Bill on the strength of it. Which is brave - and sadly it didn't work in her favour for me. Really hope it works out well though.

I know, this forum is just so much better when Doctor Who isn't airing. They show one little clip and all the grumpy farts flock back to say how much it bothered them.

I mean, do people really think that clip is representitive to what's about to come? I remember a cheesy sneak peak back in 2010 when Matt Smith and Karen Gillan were flying around an unconvincing-looking vortex while lifeless monsters flew past them, but the actual series didn't exactly turn out like that.

Waiting for the first comment of "That episode was a bit short, wasn't it?"

Freema was basically axed after one series.

Forgive my ignorance but why didn't Freema last very long on the show?
