As opposed to the other usual suspects who at the end of each episode gushed "this is the greatest episode ever" ........ until next week's came along.

I liked her on first watch and now I have just pressed rewind and I like her even more. I look forward to her in the TARDIS.

One little clip and normal service is resumed - hooray!

I didn't find it particularly annoying or particularly anything really. It was a 2 minute clip.

Looking forward to the new series and leaning about the new companion.

I mean, do people really think that clip is representitive to what's about to come? I remember a cheesy sneak peak back in 2010 when Matt Smith and Karen Gillan were flying around an unconvincing-looking vortex while lifeless monsters flew past them, but the actual series didn't exactly turn out like that.”

Wasn't there a similar amount of throwing of toys out of the pram when Catherine Tate materialised in the Tardis at the very end of "Doomsday" and she turned out alright??

I know I'll get slated for this but perhaps it is time for a female Doctor... then we might get a ruddy male companion!!

Waiting for the first comment of "That episode was a bit short, wasn't it?"”

This forum is so much better when new people come in and talk about what they have watched instead of the usual grumpy gits just commenting on other posters all the time.

Did anyone actually do that? I know a few episodes were held as the best ever last year, but it wasn't weekly and people actually took the time to explain what they liked about it rather than crying about somebody being ugly. :P

Zero chemistry, crappy delivery. Moffat's ticking off the days til he leaves

I liked her intro. Bill seems to be a Donna/Ace type character.

Welcome aboard, Pearl Mackie.

Indeed. Yet again you reply to my post and totally ignore the post I was replying to. Same old, same old.

Only for a while, we'll have to wait for the first trailer for the Christmas Special until things really get going again

Really cheesy clip. Why does the production team feel the need to over-hype announcements like this in an absurdly cringey way? Peter Capldi's reveal show was appalling and this was just cheesy. What is wrong with a good old fashioned press release together with maybe an interview?

Anyway, it'll be interesting to see what she'll actually be like as the companion (hopefully less irritating than in the clip). But the next series of Doctor Who is so absurdly far away it's not even worth thinking about.

It's almost like you're a time traveller and can see the future. Either that or the future is disappointingly predictable.

Remember when Doctor Who fans on here weren't a bunch of entitled whingers every time it was on? No I can't either.

Seriously, if that wasn't simple enough for you then your grasp of a whole series might be somewhat lacking.

Well on the strength of that I think I'll be giving the next series a miss.

As long as she repects the doctor. Doesn't fall in love with him. And is in owe of him and his tardis I will give her a chance.

Sorry, but that clip just made me cringe. I thought Donna was annoying at first, but this is a whole new level of annoying and just plain dumb - whoever wrote the clip really didn't do their job of introducing the new companion in a positive light well at all. And I know she only had two minutes of a clip, but there wasn't much to rate about Pearl's acting either.

Nothing there to make me excited about new episodes, or to think that Bill might grow on me - at least Clara had promise from the start. Jenna's performances got better and better as time went on though, so maybe Pearl can do the same, and quickly.

As far as I remember it was because Catherine Tate had already agreed to do the show but wasn't available immediately after Billie Piper quit, so they needed to fill the companion slot for a year.

I wouldn't be able to if you weren't replying to others yourself in the same manner, of course. You're quite happy to discuss other posters just as much as anybody.

Sadly the latter. Always the latter.

Good luck, Pearl! You'll bloody need it, now more than ever.

I have to admit I was one of the toy throwers when she was announced.

Proven 100% wrong and Donna is my all time favourite companion. I thought she was bloody fantastic!'

Lesson learned.

Just watched the clip and she just seemed wooden to me in terms of acting, I couldn't believe she was playing the role she was playing hopefully she will get better and by 2017 should be alright. I won't judge the character too much until the 1st episode but it seems they are going for Donna vibe but a bit more chavvy.
