Candice deserved star baker, her peacock was incredible. She was a cut above the rest in both the technical and the show stopper.
I don't get why people dislike her, she makes a lot of effort with all her bakes, sometimes maybe does a bit too much but at least tries to do something interesting. I'd be happy if she won the show, she's been consistent the whole way through and won star baker 3 times so is definitely deserving of it. |

It's now "anybody but Candice" to win, she copied Nadiyas peacock from last year 😡

Hoping for a male winner this series. Andrew would be a good winner, will be happy if the final is Andrew, Selasi and Jane.
Candice's pouting is irritating me |

Jane or Andrew to win. I love Selasi, but he's not a good enough baker. He can just stand there looking handsome and chill throughout the final.
![]() Semi-final week is always tricky, because you know it should be the person who does worst that week that goes, but it feels like they should base it on so much more of what went on before. Ultimately, I think they do, and they will be influenced by preconceptions and their desire for particular contestants to do well when they assess their work. It's human nature, and we can never be sure if something really does taste as good as they claim. |

I've warmed to Candice mainly because she just really tries hard to make something different- and to be honest her peacock was a country mile better than the rest. Andrew's, Selasi and Benjamina's looked like a kids cake entry at the village show. Jane's looked authentic- but the peacock was truly a show stopper.

I wouldn't say anyone is a nailed on cert. I would have had Benjamina getting to the final at least although not on last night's performance that was fair enough. All the remaining can and have had their wobbles, it just comes down to whether it is their week or not.
Benjamina was the right person to go based on her performance last night. It just wasn't her week unfortunately. |

Candice is lovely and has been entertaining. The tent would have been less interesting without her. She tries so hard. I'm not bothered if she wins or not but I hope she makes the final because she deserves to be there. Selasi has also been a wonderfully entertaining baker but i'm not sure he will make the final. I was sad to see Benjamina go but then the series is drawing to a close and I'll miss it.

Candice is gorgeous, and she was also a PE teacher at my old secondary school - so, Candice to win for me!
I don't know/care if she's a good cook, but we've had 8 weeks of delicious Candice on our screens, so hopefully we'll have a couple more if she makes it all the way to the final. |

Thrilled my 2 faves are still there, Selasi and Andrew.
Sad to see Benjamina go. Candice totally deserved Star Baker this week. Jane is the only one I'm not keen on that is left. Selasi tweeted last night after watching the episode in his home cinema which was rammed full of people. He has a home cinema...could he get anymore perfect...*sighs*

That's it for me with Bake Off - of the contestants this year, Benjamina was the only one left that I cared about.
Really not getting the love for Selasi or Andrew and find Jane and Candice both a bit 'meh'. I won't be following the show to Channel 4 so it's so long and good bye from me

Enjoyed tonight's show, nice to see something different and like learning about the history of baking. However, can't stand Candace with her constant pouting and lack of humility whereas Selasi seems a nice bloke. Saying that you can't deny her peacock was amazing and she deserved star baked tonight. I hope Selasi or Jane go on to win the competition.
Does anyone think Jane has aged these past few weeks? She is only 61, yet looks older....or is the stress getting to her at last! |

I have to admit Candice is a very skilled baker and she probably deserves to win, but I just cannot warm to her as a person. I like Andrew and Selasi and Jane is OK, again another very good baker.
Does anyone think Jane has aged these past few weeks? She is only 61, yet looks older....or is the stress getting to her at last! Candice has had some harsh criticism for doing nothing wrong. Holly was also criticised but she was just a bit too eager. The only baker who deserved criticism is Ruby Tandoh. My OH who happened to catch jst a bit of GBBO last night said that woman looks worn out. |

I feel like a traitor saying but I am not feeling the "love" I had for Bake Off this series which I have had since it's inception years ago.
Don't know whether it's because I know it's off to Ch4 (and certainly Paul Hollywood would never cause me to switch over and see him) They appear to have run out of ideas for the tasks. The last two weeks have been quite "mehhh". The daft bread thing last week ; the almond biscuits this week in ridiculous shapes. (Candice's had 3 which filled her baking tray) All Paul's ideas I think. When BO used to get to this stage of the competition in the past the wow factor from the competitors , used to fill me with amazement. That ordinary people form ordinary backgrounds could produce such show stopping efforts. There I have said it. Bye Bye Bake off. Enjoy Ch. 4 , As someone said on here , It will be the Celebrity, Naked on Benefits in the Jungle Bake off with the two rejected dimwits from X factor taking the place of Mel and Sue. Then people will be asked to vote for their favourite dish - even though they cannot taste it! |

Sad to see Benjamina leave, I thought she was consistent enough to get to the last week. Selasi is brilliant, j'adore!
Candice would be my preferred winner but I've a lot of time for Andrew too. <3 |

I don't think Candice has had very harsh criticism. Many people (inc me) don't seem to have taken to her, but that's the way it is. Some people found Val very irritating but I thought she was great. |

Don't know whether it's because I know it's off to Ch4 (and certainly Paul Hollywood would never cause me to switch over and see him) Like most other shows it has an arc, and it is now on a downward trajectory, in my opinion anyway. We've been fascinated, enthralled, entertained.... and now it's time to say goodbye. All good things come to an end, and I feel that has happened to Bake Off. I think last year's finalists Ian, Tamal and Nadiya were fantastic, and it kind of reached a zenith for me then. |
