I dont know if i just missed it but they didnt show Andrew at all post winner reveal and when they were sitting at the table at the end they should have had Andrew sitting there aswell. Not sure if he had sour grapes or it was just poor editing??

Well, the thing is, it's not like Big Brother or The X-Factor where the power of editing can manipulate audiences into swaying one way or another. This purely comes down to whether someone is the best or not. That is unless Paul and Mary were biased.

They showed him, but I can't remember the comment about him.

What does living abroad have to do with anything? I've lived overseas for years but I still know what's going on in the UK.

So glad Candice won. She was the best baker and has to be one of the best winners.

Anyone wondering if they'll try and make a show out of Candice and Jane's 'roadtrip'?

Right result based on the performances over the tasks but sadly it was a final of least errors rather than best bakes. I think it will be increasingly this way on C4 as they do like their drama.

It was an image that fitted the on screen narrative, so quite good editing really. |

I wouldnt have thought anything of them both sitting at the table when it was mentioned about Candice and Jane going traveling but there was also an extra chair which was empty, so with that and them not showing him seemed a bit odd. |

Didn't last years final produce two wedding cakes that would reduce a bride to tears, and not in a good way. One of them was battleship grey! |

That might have been the idea but surely the BBC wouldn't get to show it. It will either be on C4 or not at all, I suspect the latter. I think this year's contestants might lose out in the short term over who is allowed to broadcast and produce what.

They showed us what each contestant had been doing since Bake Off was filmed. They said that Andrew had baked his Dad's retirement cake; when it came to Candice, they said that she and Jane were going to do a baking road trip together. That is why she and Jane were sitting at a table together without Andrew.

Unless both have an exclusivity clause with the production company, I can't see why they can't make a show for the Beeb.

I don't want a show from Candice and Jane, it would be boring.
It's been an average year in my opinion and a good time for it to move on. I wasn't gripped this year. Last year was the best bake off ever, the final three were amazing and Nadiya was a great winner. |

A disappointing end to a disappointing year. The right person won I guess, but it was a shame she was in this series at all. They didn't get the mix right.
Last year was peak Bake Off, it's a shame that the last series I will watch is the one where for the first time ever, someone I didn't like won it. |

This year's batch have been pleasant enough, nobody really dislikeable which helps but they don't have the charisma of Nadiya. Selasi got a bit closer on the charisma front but the others just haven't got "it". Andrew maybe a bit more too but to be honest a Cambridge graduate engineer with Rolls Royce is hardly likely to give up his prestigious career, not at his stage in life, older maybe. |
