I'm so pleased Candice won the Bake off, it was well deserved as she was clearly the best in the final. Overall throughout the series in my opinion she's been the best baker, every week she went all out to produce impressive bakes, sometimes they didn't go totally to plan but she was always making such an effort to impress and she's had some incredible show stoppers. The gingerbread pub, four seasons cake, the peacock, her crown in the final and the chocolate cake in the show stopper were all particularly impressive bakes. I hope she gets lots of opportunities out of the show.

Nadiya is still my favourite Bake Off winner but Candice is a close second.

This is why it won't be the same show without Mel & Sue.

I guess people see things differently. I saw her as smug and false. Every time she won star baker it was "like oh really, little me?" when her face seemed to be saying "of course it was me".

I felt she put on that shocked act when told she had won to pretend she didn't think for a second she had. Although I didn't like her she did deserve to win if only because the other 2 messed up. She was there, she knew that, so it was pretty obvious she was going to win. There is no way it was a surprise.

Recently I was with about 25 family and friends of which 23 watch Bake Off. We got talking about it and 22 of them said they could not stand Candice and really hoped she wouldn't win. Their main reason for disliking her was that they thought she was false. So I am not the only one that felt that way. Look at the comments on any forum about Bake Off to see how unpopular she was
Just because the majority of your group didn't like Candice because they thought she was false doesn't make them right. As you say we all see things differently. I didn't see smug or false. I just saw someone who was pleased when they won Star Baker and who was disappointed when things didn't go so well. Both are reasonable reactions and have been seen many times on the GBBO by many bakers.

I think lundavra probably meant during the series she was in, not necessarily in the years since. I've recently been watching Ruby's series on Good Food (I think) and by God she's annoying. Every bake she presents she practically apologises for how crap it is. Everytime Paul or Mary give the slightest criticism, she's all 'I know, I know, I'm so sorry'. She walks up to present her show-stoppers like she's a dead woman walking. After a while, it really irritates. I've no idea whether it was put on, but she certainly acted like she had a serious self-confidence issue and/ or inferiority complex at the time.
Ruby was incredibly annoying and probably the only baker who really was not very likeable.

Oh Lord!! Ruby insecure? With all the insults and sarcasm she deals out ...I think not!!
Ruby is pretty sure of herself, sure enough to criticize the show and the presenters. When she made those comments about Paul recently she was extremely rude and if you read her Twitter (and her 'I did it for you lot and now I'll be in trouble' type comments) she left you in no doubt that she was just trying to stir and be clever.
No way is Ruby insecure.
Ruby has shaved off her hair
On Twitter Ruby is horrible. She's effing this and that, she calls people c-nts, she attacked Paul and Mary for no good reason and she came out as a lesbian in such a agressive, contemptuous manner. In view of abbieunique's post above, I think Ruby may have some problems.

There may be something wrong there. Why shave your hair off and why do it on the final of the GBBO? She was so passive and apologetic on GBBO on Twitter she's combative and looking for arguments.

I know they aren't to everyone's taste, but I just love Mel and Sue and they have had me laughing out loud from the very first episode of the very first series.

I know you might talk about tokenism and the BBC being PC and all that but Nadiya was a worthy winner and her speech afterwards is probably THE moment in the history of the show.

I think they are perfect for GBBO - they are now an integral part

Oh gosh, nadiya is just lovely and her family are so sweet. Wonderful ending to 2015 GBBO. Loved mary having a tear in her eye.
All three finalists were so good

What a lovely programme - but then I suppose how could it be anything else?

Fabulous series with brilliant contestants.

I cried a bit at the end again.

I may have had a tear in my eye at the end, again

Brilliant series, loved watching that and the little bits and bobs I'd forgotten

Awwww I loved the class of 2015 show, last year for me was the best Bake Off series of all time, I'd forgotten how brilliant all the bakers were, such a lovely bunch.

Nadiya is just amazing , I was crying again watching her win and her speech afterwards. Mary welling up too. I'm so happy for every opportunity Nadiya has had since the show because she deserves it.

So out of curiosity, why is it fine then to dislike Candice ? And why would viewers be jealous of someone they don't even know personally ? Signs of immaturity and insecurity in those viewers is all I can think. All three were lovely Bake Off finalists, and Candice was a worthy winner. All that seemed to be wrong with her showstopper was the lack of cheese flavour in her scones. Well done to her and all of them.
Candice was my favourite so not sure if you're getting the wrong end of the stick?

I'm just saying that we don't all have to like the same people but at least have a legitimate reason other than "she's Pouty McPoutFace"

I laughed out loud at Matt's bright green icing (again!). I had forgotten how much I liked last years bakers too.
