I agree! They also know what the first and last task is before they get there so there's always a chance to practice if they need to make something they haven't made before.
I only bake at home but can make a genoise. Not tried mirror glaze but I think I could give it a go.

More like be the best of the ones who applied. I can imagine a lot of people wouldn't want the hassle of being on the show and some of them would be very good bakers...

I keep being told I should go on it but that would be my worse nightmare. Love watching it but would not like being there.

I thought the overall standard was pretty poor. I am sure week one in previous series have been much better.
I wonder if the lady who made the blue mirror cake had looked at Youtube and was inspired by this cake.

The presenter spoils it, I am sure it could be a really good programme if they could find a better presenter.
