Dampfnudeln! My grandparents lived in Germany. Always used to have some when we were over there. It wasn't a holiday without a bowl of dampfnudeln swimming in custard!

Germany has bread as a BIG staple on its diet...
Not just bread - cake, dumplings both sweet and savoury, gingerbread , biscuits....

I spent some time in Prague and really liked their bread dumplings with pork and sauerkraut. Put on a lot of weight that year!
