Reason I ask is that its a lot more expensive that most 55" 4K TVs.
Is this TV worth it?

If it's a new model for 2016 that has only just arrived then it may be that the price is being established and will be discounted in the next couple of months. Often the way with new to market products.

Yes it's the LG 2015 OLED model and the next generation 2016 models are due from LG fairly soon.

They'll almost certainly be even more expensive though.

I read LG is best if your watching in a bright room and Samsung is good in a dark room due to having better black but LG also has the best viewing angle. ?

It's expensive because it's OLED as opposed to LCD with LED backlighting. So should have better blacks and more realistic colours.

But unless you have to buy a new TV immediately, I'd wait until ones come out with the new Premium UHD logo, which denotes that they live up to the new UHD standards for increased colour gamut etc.

As it's not got the logo, presumably it can't.

If you are after Ultra HD premium certification these are the models that you should be looking at - no idea if they are available now.

Press release from LG.....

I have the same TV, if I remember rightly go for the straight panel not curved as the straight has HDR. Fantastic picture, but if I'm honestI can't see a great difference in HD 1080p and UHD at least through Amazon. I might once UHD Blu Rays start arriving on mass.

Then your doing it wrong!! We've got a 49" LG UF770V and I can certainly see a big difference between HD and 4K. If you have good internet go onto YouTube and type in 4K videos, watch some on there or download some from the internet(plenty about) and load them onto a usb stick. Or if you have a camera or mobile phone that does 4K video you can make your own. I recently made a quick 4K clip on my iPhone 6S and watched it back on my tv, and I can tell you even that looks way better than any HD channel on sky!

I did say through streaming, which is never going to give the best UHD picture. Only 4k shot from your own camera and played on the TV or UHD discs when they arrive in the UK will give the best picture.

And I wasn't comparing SKY HD which is crap even compared to Netflix, so yes SKY HD v Amazon Prime there will be a difference, but I stopped giving SKY money a long time ago.
