Think Tank
New quiz show on BBC1 that started today. Presented by Bill Turnbull. I thought it was............passable. Harmless entertainment. I may keep watching it.
![]() Anyone else seen it? What do you reckon to it? |

I tried. I really did try. But Bill has a presenting style
reminiscent of magadon or valium. I felt myself losing the will to live after a (very) few minutes, and turned over to an umpteenth repeat of 'The Royal'. Where I found that Jackie Corkhill was the Mother Superior of the convent where the 'regular nun' Sister Bridget is based! |

Didn't there used to be a quiz with this name, years ago? Think it was presented by some Geordie bloke.

No although I am a fan of Pointless and The Chase I cant seem to get excited about these midday quiz's!...... Something in my brain poo hoo's them and I never expect to like them so don't tune in!........
I live in hope every couple of weeks when I advance look at what is going to be broadcast at 2.15 after Doctors that they are going to give us a good light hearted drama again!.... Indian Doctor, WPC 56, The Doctor Blake Mysteries, (although I know that is on, on BBC2 at the moment!) Hooray!. And of course the wonderful, A Place to Call Home..... (which we have to wait almost another year for next series!...).. But sadly I am often disappointed when I see yet another new quiz show.....

Stunned at some of the answers to Everton's nickname. C'mon you Quality Street.

Some of the Think Tank are rather annoying
Is it going to be the same people every day? Also, in the rounds where they all give answers to a question, surely some of them must be "fed" wrong answers? I can't believe somebody actually genuinely thought the nickname of any football team was Quality Street or Maltesers?! |

No. Not my sort of programme. I'm not into quizzes, cooking, bric a brac, or house programmes, so my daytime BBC viewing is very limited.

![]() I often used to wonder why they're called the Toffees, wasnt/arent Everton more famous for mints or did their factories make toffee as well at one time? |

So all in all i found it rather disappointing, even when the expectation levels were quite low what with it only being a daytime quiz show. (Perfection still the only watchable daytime quiz show for me) |

I can't believe somebody actually genuinely thought the nickname of any football team was Quality Street or Maltesers?! Looks like they're permanent.......... Bill Turnbull hosts as three contestants compete to win a cash prize, aided or hindered by the answers of a regular cast of contributors known as the Think Tank. I wonder how much they get paid for appearing? They've already recorded twenty shows. Maybe they're trying to build them up as celebrities, like the Eggheads and the Chasers. Describing them as a cast makes them sound like they're actors pretending to be pizza waiters etc. ADDITIONAL:- If the photo on here is anything to go by http://tv.bt.com/tv/tv-news/think-ta...11364047156733 it looks as if they have a pool of twelve people for the Think Tank. |

The show would be a lot better if they change the name of the show so instead of Think Tank it could be Think Wank

I watched it for the first question, and the asking of the second one : so about 15 minutes.
Sorry, but I thought it was terrible. Far too drawn out, with an appalling format. And based on what I saw, the questions are far too easy anyway. I'm definitely not a football fan, yet even I knew the answer to the first question. I can only assume that the "think tank" are told what answers to give. |

Far too much time-wasting "chat", I couldn't care less what somebody else's hobbies are and the programme had the pace of a Mogadon-addicted slug. A team of "experts" who are trying to be "characters". Given their appalling lack of knowledge (except "the clever one" of course) and failure to make intelligent guesses they are clearly there so that the audience can pick a "favourite" and that they can join the tragic world of z-list "reality" "celebs". "Strictly Come Dancing" anyone? And is that woman who seems to know sod all squared really a doctor? A presenter with the charisma of a leaking tap. Otherwise I really enjoyed it!

Kaftanman, do you think that Think Tank will become a cult favourite? Personally, I can't wait to see today's 'episode'.

It seems to be another of what I call "Hello Dale" (as in Winton) quiz shows, where contestants continuously dither over the choice of answers when it is blatantly obvious that they know the correct one. Is this supposed to make the quiz exciting? - No, just fake.
