I love the rounds of applause every time somebody gets a question right. It's comical. I've never seen a panel applaud so much.

Suppose there was a top quizzer on the Think Tank that knew the answer to nearly every question.

There isn't.
I was using it as a theoretical example to show why, if you are ahead, you should knock out the best quizzer even if you know the answer. It makes the next question harder for your opponent. |

Sometimes, I despair of the British public opinion but this is genius.

The only good thing about this show is that Lucy was back

Caught this show for the first time yesterday.
Wont bother again. Its so boring with a boring presenter. I dont see it running as long as the likes of Egg Heads or Pointless. |

What puzzles me is why they stick with a presenter that really isn't suited to the role. Surely by the second or third taping they must see that it's not working.
I'd say the same about Kirsty Wark and Fiona Bruce in their quiz show presenting exploits. Coincidence that they're all newsreaders? I think the show would be vastly improved if it was hosted by a comedian/entertainer and moved at a quicker pace. |

Are any of the Think Tank actually any good, though? That supposed genius bloke (glasses, bow tie etc.) reckoned he'd studied the works of Skakespeare for three years, but still managed to forget one of the three plays that feature two named individual characters in their title, thus misleading the contestant into giving the wrong answer.

I think some people are too critical.
I like Bill Turnbull and his seemly genuine rapport with the 'Think Tank', seems to have taken the time to learn about them unless he is being fed all the information. He does seems to tweet about them though. I like the people in the Think Tank, I guess they all wanted to be contestants but got stuck in the Think Tank probably being paid less than the winning contestant they have to 'help'. Plus the production team don't even allow them end of show credit. Max is nice and he I like his self depreciating humour. |

I read a very valid query on Facebook: what exactly is "in it" for the Think Tank? Granted they must have some expenses/gratuity paid to them, but you'd think there'd maybe be some token prize at the end of each episode for the one who's "helped" the most

If you saw it for the first time you'd be inclined to think that the Think Tankers were either professional quizzers each with their own specialist subject or that they were contestants ready to setup to be a contestant for the next show.
Having a group of nobodies who seem to be pretty knowledgeless is quite odd. |

![]() They probably get expenses and such like, I'm not sure if they will be paid as such. If they are it probably won't be much, but it's not about that. They're on the telly. Remember it's only been commissioned for twenty shows. They were probably filmed in about a week. So it wouldn't have been a huge commitment. I doubt this will be given an extended run after the initial twenty shows, but then I've seen worse game shows get re-commissioned. I think.

Cleve, Ken and Peter are all on the Perfection app so I presume they've been on the show

One of the think tank, giving the totally nuts, random answer of swimming pool, for the meaning if the Russian word Spasiba is pretty understandable, if you've watched this lot before but two of them giving it, is a bit suspicious.

And yes, you're right, it isn't. ![]() Doctor said she didn't know where Denmark was and thought it was "East". Hope she paid more attention at medical school. |

I think Lord Palmerston said that there were only three people in the world that understood the Schleswig Holstein Question, of which he was one, but he'd forgotten the answer, one of the others had gone mad, and I forget the other one. Something like that anyway. ![]() This was all covered in one of the Flashman books. I think it might have been Royal Flash, the one that got made into a film. |

Biggest planet in the solar system. I'm definite that it's Mars. WTF!!!
![]() I was thinking of some tweaks for the show. How about in round 2 the contestant can answer a question for £200 or ask a Tanker for help for £100. Also, have it so that the Tankers win the other £100 then at the end of the week the Taker with the biggest pot gets to keep it. |
