I'm not watching periscope, just listening to the wireless and I heard the double dump.
That's 2 double dumps I've heard now live as they happened.

That last periscope stunt on Gina worked on the radio for me.

He said along the lines of "I don't get an F if I'm on the radio, F you, put that on your Fing radio show"... almost a shame it had to be dumped

That was inspired. When the lady (Gina?) rang in I'd have cheered out loud if I werent next to a sleeping person.

Been some really great shows these last couple of weeks; feels like a proper show now! Missed the first hour and a half tonight, so have something to listen to once I get a bit tired of the Two Mikes shouting at each other.

How exactly does that happen?

How many times did Iain broadcast on Periscope last night? Was it just the twice?

I have just caught up with the last 40 minutes of last nights show. I was listening in delay by about 30 minutes last night. I prefer doing that to catching up afterwards to avoid spoilers. So when Iain announced who we were going to watch on Periscope, I paused the show and went to the Periscope to watch the bit of the video where there were loads of comments, which by that time had stopped. When the comments stopped, I restarted the show. I thought that would be the best way of getting the whole experience. But for some reason the third video (the one with the double dump) was not available. He must have set his Periscope so that his videos don't get saved. I went to sleep after listening to the double dump as it was after 1 o'clock. This morning I have just caught up with Gina and fortunately that was saved so I just watched it and then listened to the show.

That was genuinely very exciting. There will be a bonus podcast this evening but I would definitely recommend watching the Periscope recording first.

He cut off the Periscope at about 12.10 because he was originally going to use Kath's phone to watch the other Periscopers but it didn't work so he used his own phone. Judging by his Periscope page, he put it back on about 10 minutes before the end of the show after all the Periscope watching had finished.

I can't find my captures from last night so I was just basing it on that. Was the double dump bit broadcast on Periscope?

I don't think so. The first Periscope ends when he's playing with Kath's phone before the Periscope watching and then the second one starts near the end, so there is about 30-40 minutes missing. So I think the only people who heard the double dump would have been those watching

Going back to LBC days, the LBC General Chit-Chat thread was the main place to discuss the show. I started to post about the show a lot around early 2006 and most of the people on there at the time didn't like the direction that the then owners Chrysalis were taking the station. The emphasis was on personality and humour and not so much on news. Iain and Clive to a slightly lesser extent were so different to what had been on LBC that there was a lot of anger and frustration towards Iain in particular. At time went on, other people than myself wanted to talk about Iain's show and essentially two camps formed, people who wanted LBC to talk about news and serious stuff all the time and people who like the new approach, and at times it got quite ugly. Nevertheless, it proved to be an exciting place to discuss the show and the station in general. Iain would occasionally read out posts from the forum and that would put up certain people's backs up even more.

The fact that the thread was shared with LBC in general meant conflict was inevitable, so when Iain started on Virgin, the thread was dedicated to Iain alone, so it was largely harmonious. There was a lot of discussion on there too, but once Absolute started their own official Iain Lee page, most people went over there. In once sense it was good to get somewhere were a lot of people would find it, including several of the big name callers, but it wasn't really good for proper discussion and it was too chatty for my liking. If you want to look for historical discussion of the show, it is too hard to navigate the Facebook page whereas the DS posts are still there.

I do go over to the talkRADIO Listeners Facebook page and there are a lot of people there including many of the callers, but for proper discussion, this is the place to be.

funny thing is about the LBC thread, they don't like the direction the stations going in now either! no pleasing them over there. I'm on the Talk Radio Facebook Page but I certainly don't dismiss this thread which is great for more detailed discussion. last night's show was amazing, especially the last hour. I don't use Periscope but it worked just as well just listening to the radio.

The Periscope is during the last hour and the setting up and postmortems etc takes up more or less the whole hour. If you are really pushed for time then you would just listen to the last half hour during Gina's Periscope..

I remember those days. I initially found the invective against Iain staggering and would end up getting quite angry with the 'traditional' LBC posters (some of whom continue to post there). However, once I calmed down, I started to get a slightly perverse pleasure in rattling their cages. I have faint memories of planning various strategies with Chavvy Vicky. Yes, I know, an acquisition of a life may have been a better option.

I also agree about the Absolute board. It quickly degenerated into a bit of a clique with some of the dominant types on there becoming too big for their boots and talking down to more occasional posters. As a result, I pretty much retired from these things.

We have learned a couple of things recently. I had pretty much guessed this already but they had so many interviews at the start of the talkRADIO show because they were worried there wouldn't be many callers after the euphoria of the start wore off.

Also, some people will remember Iain saying "my girlfriend Fifi" a lot on the earlier LBC shows. He suddenly stopped mentioning her and so a caller called Isabella from Battersea (who was a very regular caller to Clive Bull as well at the time) noticed that and she was quite brutal in her teasing so he banned her. Of course, bans were part of the fun at LBC but we never heard from her again. It was written on a interview Iain gave to a website not long after that Iain had split up with a girlfriend after many years. Iain's mentioned someone called Tessa quite a bit on talkRADIO so I would wager that Tessa is Fifi's real name.

Another excellent week - possibly the best so far.

The Periscope Love Bomb was brilliant radio, but I think the Andy Crane song on Friday show made the week!

Damn, I missed it - if I'd have known, I might have got stuck in.
Now I understand why Iain has been reticent and is still wary of DS, who could blame him, dude got burned.
So, he's had a bad experience with LBC threadsters and recently the shower on Twitter have been on his case.
Hopefully all the goodwill towards him will drown out the bad.

I know that Iain did a FB video chat where he addressed some issues raised on this thread so obviously he'd glanced at it.
Funnily enough, it was mostly your posts that were responded to and I thought that was because you must be some sort of radio forum big cheese or is it a big fish?
