Oh, it used to have that thread, but it doesn't any more.

Also my point re Will is that he hasn't really seen what skepticism is like NOW, with many high profile wins on various important subjects, and the way we try and help people understand the world rather than just ranting.

Caddick's "retirement" wasn't very long.

Jonathan's tweet was disgusting.

He was racist on BBC London the other week on the Sunny & Shay show, which upset her greatly. He apologised and seemed contrite, but seems he has reverted to type.

His Aspergers is no excuse.

I have an idea about which tweet I think it was, but scrolling through the shower of bile that is his twitter feed was bad enough. Vile man.

Listening to Jonathan on the Podcast now. Really uncomfortable.

The way people comment about this stuff as if they know anything at all about neurological conditions is hilarious.

I just realised the thing about "made up colours" wasnt in the podcast. That was hilarious!

Magenta, Cyan, Mauve. Not real colours. Magenta is not visible to the human eye, or something.

Indeed. As an autistic/aspie myself, and having done some work/research in that area, too, I feel I have a certain knowledge base from which to speak.

I find Jonathan's views repulsive, but why bring Asperger's into that discussion at all is beyond me, at the moment.

Because he used it as an excuse on BBC London.

Ah - could I cautiously suggest it would have been helpful if you'd said that first time around? It did come over as a bit odd to say what you did without the context

OK, but I don't wish to ever speak about him again.

And apologies from me too. Fair point.

Listening to Alan Caddick snoring on the phone made me wee myself!
He doesn't sound the healthiest of guys!

His picture on a wooden horse at Aintree was in the Sun and looked very overweight. He also smokes during some of his calls and regularly phones from the pub. So not very healthy!

I love how Caddick was kept on snoring for the whole show pretty much. Any other presenter would have cut him off, Iain did the exact opposite and not just leave him on the line but left him on air for the rest of the show.

Jonathan called again last night and Iain prefaced his call with a plea to Twitter users not to send him Jonathan's Tweets. The number of negative adjectives Iain used to describe the Tweets may have been a world record. However, that was water off a duck's back and Jonathan continued the call regardless. He wanted to talk about wrestling and the call ended abruptly. I thought it was dumped but I just watched the Periscope and it wasn't.

I seem to have inadvertently drifted off listening to TalkRadio and Iain Lee entirely over the past couple of weeks.

Have I missed any great guests I should catch up on?

Richard Herring, Howard Hughes, David Icke and Will Storr have all been on in the last few weeks

Was Caddick's snoring heard over the news? I had to turn Periscope's sound off as it kept freezing and I thought I heard him zedding away during the news on my radio, haha!

Except Will Storr thinks he's Hunter S Thompson and massively massaged his story about our Skeptics Convention and what actually happened there.

Edit: And kind of insulted two of my friends.

Yes, and over some ads.

Last night, Iain mentioned that they have a lot of ads. But how much are companies paying for those ads? Given that there are no RAJARs yet, presumably next to nothing.

I presume they are getting the ads on talkRADIO and probably Virgin in a job lot with talkSPORT. I wouldn't be surprised if that continues long term as well.

Yes, given that they all have the same advertisers that would make sense. However, is there a choice of advertising on talkSPORT only? If the deal at the moment is you get talkRADIO and Virgin for free then can you really tell how much revenue is generated by each station?

The Wireless Group does say in their Annual Report (April 2016) that they had achieved 50% of their forecast 2016 revenue for the D2 stations.

Quote:
“The launch and establishment of our three new recently launched
national radio stations on D2 is a key priority for 2016. talkSPORT 2 and
talkRADIO will leverage talkSPORT’s brand heritage while Virgin Radio
will have instant brand recognition. All three stations will be supported
by existing infrastructure and will benefit from cross promotion, thereby
helping to keep costs as low as possible. Our low cost model for these
digital stations envisages breakeven being achieved at modest audience
delivery levels. Operating losses at the three stations are anticipated to
be circa £3.6m in 2016, moving to a small loss in 2017 and growing
profitably beyond this. 50% of our forecast 2016 revenue for the D2
stations has already been achieved.”

Cheers Lentini, I did hear Howard but will have to catch up with Icke and Herring. I've recently heard Howard Hughes own Icke interview on his podcast from back in January and of course he had him on the Unexplained recently. As for Richard Herring I always listen to his Leicester Square Podcasts, have just got around to hearing the one with Al Murray from a while back, so will get around to both listening to Iain Lee guesting with him and then him guesting on TalkRadio with Iain Lee in the near future.
