This is what I wrote on here when you phoned up:

That was nearly 2 months ago and calls are still a bit thin on the ground so you are needed more than ever!

Go on, dial 0844 4991000 !
I will listen live one day next week and call.
I saw on twitter the he is having a private investigator on soon.
Maybe that night

I think you should also get onto Jon Holmes' show on Lonely Lunch or one of his meat games and remind him about your "metal arm"!

Now that lentini has taken down his site, Matthew Stephenson (the other unofficial podcaster) has got his own website so that his uploads are easy to navigate

http://iainleepodcasts.co.uk

He's also set up a page where you can stream them direct

Hope Iain decides to revert binning straight to air, Only part of the show I like really. Only so much of a man reading a newspaper you can take.

He suggested last week that tonight might be the last one for a while (because Kath's still on holiday tonight) but he Tweeted earlier today

Fun while it lasted but straight to air has ended...for now. I'm back tonight at 10pm
He's uttered the phrase "There's nothing in the papers" regularly since his WM shows but manages to get material from them. Ideally there would be enough calls to get through the whole show so that the papers don't get a look in. We'll see this month whether the (temporary?) end of straight-to-air helps or hinders in that respect.

Just heard your great call. People were talking about it on Facebook last night. Although I thought you were a little bit harsh on Gatford! He's a legend.

How is he "vewwy lucky" ?

The first night without straight-to-air went very well. Iain was only filling from The Sun for about 5 minutes.

The Brexit Rant was only for 10 mins max though. Throughout the whole show I think there was probably only 20 mins max of brexit talk.

Bit of a surprise to see my post quoted.. ! Atleast he read it. Merely an opinion of mine, no need to fly off the rails. I still bought your CD btw as Im sure your reading this... Your output is still far better than the other talk shows just saying I miss straight to air and the loonies that call in.

Kath just Tweeted:

"There won't be a pod tonight. The reason will become clear, but please bear with us while we try something new and possibly better."

Hah ok maybe I'm the only one who remembers it or found it funny. A few weeks ago Gatford called in and Iain went on a hilarious (to me!) repetition of an Asian-accented man telling "Mr Gatfah" he was a "vewwy lucky man" like some deranged Bond villain making a threat. I guess it just stuck with me and now every time Gary phones in I call him vewwy lucky man. Out loud. Alone with only the cats to hear. My little world of fun

Thanks to the lentil guy who did the Periscope pods. I hope someone else takes up the baton! The Periscope vid with the good audio synched to it was a delight, a delight I tell thee.

OK, thanks for the explanation I seem to have forgotten about that call.

The other guy who did unofficial podcasts has taken up the baton, and is also doing the Periscope videos.

Im going to have to rewatch the whole thing tonight. It started with a drunk Danny Baker discussing radio, when I tuned in just after 11 there was a sad story of a poorly young lad (sorry if thats not accurate, I came in late and need to learn more) then some light chat about gameshows.

All with over 1k periscope viewers.

Iain talked about the recent DS discussion on here just after midnight and also mentioned the "poisonous arses" on the LBC thread back in the day such as when gurney-slade wrote something nasty about him and then said "morning all!"

They're still 'poisonous arses'

Do you remember when Chavvy Vicky joined, the mods had to delete entire pages it got so bad?

I discovered something the older members in that thread (Clive Bull golden era) might be interested in, but I'm not telling them.

Around 12.30 the new podcast regime was unveiled. The last hour rather than the first hour will be on the podcast, because more people are likely to miss the last hour than the first. The disadvantage is that the podcast will not appear until later in the day. However, for tonight there is a bonus podcast for the Danny Baker interview which is already downloadable.

When Vicky complained, the entire thread was deleted which was about a year's worth of posts at the time although I managed to salvage a good proportion of that through Yahoo and Google caches. She was mortified by that because she only wanted certain posts removed.

I managed to save it too. Came across it a couple of months ago. Charming lady.

edit: just found it, been on my pc since 2008 I've only kept her replies. She didn't like gurneyslade much either!
