For the second night after the end of straight-to-air, there were plenty of calls in the last hour, apparently vindicating the decision to temporarily end straight-to-air. Of course two's a small sample, but we could see Iain remarking to Kath on Periscope about the high number of calls they've been getting.

The whole rant was superficial and embarrassing. This country is not collapsing around our feet. Why are people like him talking such tripe. Now why is he suddenly so bothered anyway? It was only a few weeks ago when I was listening and Iain Lee said on the show that he didn't care much about the referendum and was so uninterested that he would get one of his own young children to make the decision for him one way or another on his vote. I thought he said he was going to run a positive radio show when it began three months ago. |

Iain was doing what is called a "bit" in industry parlance. He's doing a show. And it was only 4 minutes long. Man alive.

"They have broken this country" Iain squeals animatedly. What utter bilge. Farage, Boris and 17,410,742 others have also done so then, not forgetting the Tory Government and Cameron who gave us the vote in the first place.

Fantastic to hear Iain talking to Danny Baker. Oh, how I miss his afternoon show on BBC London.
![]() ![]() But depressing to hear Iain hint that the management will speak to him about the show at some point ("It will happen, you know it will") to ask him to make it more 'inclusive'. Danny's response was perfect. Iain's assessment and critique of the LBC thread spot on, as was his response to those who complained about his Brexit bit. Total over-reaction IMO. I like that Iain is not short of an opinion or two, and that the show has that variety. I'm not a fan of the straight to air stuff, so for me, I'm glad it's not there at the moment, but I also totally accept that the show is not for me alone and (to paraphrase Iain), it would be a strange and boring world indeed if we all liked every bit of everything. |

Around 12.30 the new podcast regime was unveiled. The last hour rather than the first hour will be on the podcast, because more people are likely to miss the last hour than the first. The disadvantage is that the podcast will not appear until later in the day. However, for tonight there is a bonus podcast for the Danny Baker interview which is already downloadable.
When Vicky complained, the entire thread was deleted which was about a year's worth of posts at the time although I managed to salvage a good proportion of that through Yahoo and Google caches. She was mortified by that because she only wanted certain posts removed. |

I'm really enjoying listening to Iain lately but I don't like those liberal leftie rants either. It's bad enough with the likes of Bob Geldolf and Charlotte Church going off on one like this. I thought the show was to escape all the Brexit stuff. Hopefully now that Kath is back she'll reign Iain a bit.
Boris Johnson was stabbed in the back and had no choice but to stand down from the tory leadership election. Nigel Farage has stood down because his task is achieved and done we are coming out of the EU and he'd have played no role in future EU discussions anyway. David Cameron has stood down because he was the defeated leader of the losing side and had little other choice, nobody has "run away". People are moaning nothing is happening and there's no plan but it's only 13 days since the referendum how quickly were they expecting it to be all sorted out?, before they've even chosen a new Prime Minister and new cabinet and EU negotiations team???. I'm not in the least upset at Iain Lee's recent rant I didn't take it seriously but I am getting sick to the stomach of the hysteria, wailing and calls for a second referendum from many losing voters all they're doing is making themselves look very silly and undemocratic. PS.. Bring back straight-to-air calls for the final hour.

I remember that very well and even attempted to join in occasionally (although I might have made that up). Have you still got what you retrieved?

Got a ticket for the Film Ring, three of us going. Really looking forward to it.
On the politics subject it's really something I'm bored of hearing because I listen to (the still fabulous) Nick Abbot on my 2 hour round commute and it's been purely brexit for the past few weeks, which I guess is understandable for LBC. Not really interested in hearing about it again on Iain's show as well as it was an escape from all that, but as he says it was only for 10 minutes (although this number seems to have been 'Michael Gove'd' down to 4 minutes now ). Hello Iain by the way if you are reading - enjoying the shows especially last night! |

Iain seems to have banned Rich Tea and Zenton on his twitter account for comments made on here wonder if he's going to ban me now I've made comments too even though I only said I didn't take his referendum rant seriously?. It's opinions Iain and everyone is entitled to them I think it's very harsh you banning people simply for making genuinely felt comments.
![]() If I'm to be banned too I will still listen every night to the show because I really like it and I use twitter very infrequently anyway. |

I've just had a look and I can't see where they are banned from his Twitter. As far as I can tell they haven't posted on Twitter. Iain was only discussing their posts on this thread.

It's only really the periscope videos that take effort, everything else takes about 15 minutes |

Did anyone notice that at the start of the call, @prodnose sounded more than a tad pissed, but as the call went on he became more and more lucid, to the point of being completely sober at the end.
So, a 10 minute call to Iain Lee is the cure to drunkenness. ![]() Hic Hic Hic |

Iain's show was magnificent last night!
So funny that he mentioned DS and so clearly remembered who slagged him off daily on the LBC thread. When the losers were lovebombed, I thought it was down to Danny Baker. But someone said it was started by someone with the Twitter name Radio Fail........who I heard Iain swearing at before the show went on air. Not sure how true that is. Anyway, it was great! |

Another busy day on Twitter. We learned that JHB has blocked him and he asked Jonathan to stop Tweeting him after he tweeted Iain more bile.
Iain released 20 more tickets for Film Ring for those who don't mind standing. Iain said they had reserved some tickets for some of the junior talkRADIO people (e.g. Cornelius, Rud etc.) so it might also be an opportunity to meet some of them. On Facebook, quite a few of the regular callers have said they have tickets. |
