The call goes uncomfortable from 49:00, then the adverts start at 52:56

"He's f**king nuts!"
"He's so f**king needy!"
"F**king hell!"
"F**k's sake!"

Bloody hell Iain didn't mince his words last night with Jonathan the Racist and about time too.

I wonder if he likes him really.

All of this is true, yet his calls are still more enjoyable than Russ's. 😁

As i said earlier in the thread, he is utterly vile in his views but i love his calls. I think its just the sheer randomness of them at times.

Every show needs a good guy and every show/drama/story needs a villain. It's called entertainment.

Has Russ really fallen out with Iain because he "didn't respond on Twitter"? What are we, 12?

It makes for great radio, but I hope we're not being entertained by Iain having another apparent meltdown.

Yes, as ive said earlier in the thread his calls were ok however the last couple of weeks he was just irritating. He seems to like to have an opinion however when the other person doesn't agree or questions he doesn't like it. He asked Iain a question and Iain answered it however it wasn't the answer he wanted so he started getting funny.

I thought when Iain said on the radio "I can't do this for much longer" he was joking around a bit, however after seeing the periscope footage during the break i really felt sorry for him. He seemed really serious by it and it looked like something he had been thinking for a while not an off the cuff comment. He did openly say that night he was struggling and that he nearly didn't come in so hopefully it was just a rough week for him and his mental health improves for him.

He hasnt had a break for a bit has he? He's had the odd night off but maybe time for a holiday? Thats the trouble with those shows, you attract nutters.

I've listened to late night talk radio for a long time and it seems to me that there are more crazed and deranged callers than ever. Now with social media they can really get their twisted and abusive messages directly and unfiltered to the presenters of such shows.

If it were me I'd do the show from 10-1am and wouldn't have any Facebook, Periscope or Twitter, if anyone wanted a beef or be abusive than they should call in.

I'm kinda old fashioned when it comes to speech radio even thought I very rarely listen live I've never seen the point of watching a radio show in progress (periscope) I'm more interested in the sound it makes.

Just to make it straight from the off I really do like Iain Lee and his show I only started listening to him when he joined talkRADIO, I knew of him but up to that point I had never heard him do a show.

My impressions on him before joining talkRADIO was that he was a bit of a dick, full of himself and mouthy BUT after listening to a few weeks of his show and watching it also on Periscope I realised I was wrong and under all the frontage there's a very decent guy rammed with a talent for radio like not many others and wholly entertaining.

Sadly it seems he's a very troubled man and I never knew that before talkRADIO started up, I know there are thousands out there on twitter that like him and I don't think he should quit twitter because of a hundred spiteful thick keyboard warriors he should just block them.

If your reading this Iain please carry on regardless and just completely ignore the tw@*$ in this life.

I'm sure depression is a thing it's just i have no experience of it. Iain on twitter absolutely brings some of it on himself. Trolls LOVE perceived weak points and Iain lets them know when they are getting to him which means they do it more. I can't imagine Iain is that thick so it feels like he's actually encouraging them to attack him.

I know this isn't the thread for off-topic discussion, but I have to fundamentally disagree with this way of thinking. It is absolutely wrong to turn around appalling behaviour by some and effectively say the victim was asking for it. I never cease to be amazed by society's capacity to blame the wrong person and somehow brush off the insidious, drip-drip growth of hate-speech and attitudes, and do nothing about it. In so doing, we allow this to become the norm, which is a dangerous path to set out on.

Anyone is allowed to fight back, and deserves support against the a-holes, not to be further criticised.

Iain Lee probably makes his job more difficult by being so connected with his listeners off air. In the LBC days Twitter, Facebook and Periscope weren't things.

Yeah best of luck fighting with semi organised trolls.

I think it's a shame that this reply is all you took from my post. Anyway, off-topic, I know.

MySpace was though.
I seem to remember even way back then he had to close down his account a couple of times due to idiots.
Sadly trolls will always find a way to spread their bile one way or another

Classic Caddick. Iain spends several minutes telling him how he got screwed by a garage and then had to spend thousands of pounds on a new car. Caddick says, "That's good"

He does seem to attract some callers who do not listen or aren't interested in listening. Caddick, Nigel and Jonathan from Swansea for starters

The Iain Lee show can be like a solar system, with callers reporting from their own worlds.

He announced that he'll be having 7 days off in August. A Friday, then the following week, then he'll be back for a while before having another day off.

I seriously miss the losers and scopers when Iain's wifi isn't working! It's still the best show when I tune in on the radio, but it is twice as good being able to view it as well.

Dave Cribb, who nominally produces Jon Holmes but is hardly ever there, Tweeted the show saying that the guy talking about a tramp called Mad John sounded like Rud.

Iain said (on air) "Dave Cribb, yeah we know."

Rud is one of the assistant producers and he's been on Jon Holmes' show a few times doing work experience punditry.

I think Iain is being a bit harsh on the current Digital Spy posters again tonight - it's not like the old days when there were nasty people like GurneySlade and BummerGate1 on that horrible LBC thread of old.
