I was there from the beginning of the old ncarnation of Talkradio.
I used to love Ian Collins and the Creatures of the Night, James whale and Ash, and Tommy Boyd! Amazing I ever got any Sleep.
Ps. What on earth has happened to Ian Collins. He changed his whole image (not very flattering) and suddenly became a political commenter and general bore on the radio. Back in the day his show was sheer genius.
I was there to, don't forget Caesar the geezer who preceded James whale.

Highly unlikely.

Tommy Boyd now works as a store security detective for Waitrose in Brighton.

Iain actually said when he started at TalkRADIO that he had said to his bosses to get Boyd on board for a show but he said they weren't interested.

Me too I can even remember Samantha Mehr who was on the breakfast show and left after about 2 days. I used to listen to her on BBC WM on a Sunday so it was a shame she left for Talk Radio and left that almost immediately

I was a student in those days so got to listen to a lot, Scott Chisholm, Tommy Boyd but the best show was Carol McGiffin and Moz Dee at 7pm (I think it was called the Rude Awakening while the Breakfast show was called Dish of the Day because the two's timeslots were swapped at the last minute)

Does he really well at least it's a job and bills have to be paid. I bet he'd still be good on the radio if someone would give him another chance, he could be an annoying little tw-t at times but he was a polished performer most of the time.

No he doesn't really Billy. That was a private jab at the poster who was making a fool of himself yesterday in a thread about Waitrose. I notice he's now serving a ban and that thread was closed.

I watched the clip of Iain Lee on the cable car in London. It made me laugh to myself but he was clearly hamming it up quite a bit. At least I hope he was. I do recall my own mum in a cable car with the family at Woburn Abbey in the 70's and it stopped and began wobbling. I was about seven but still recall her terror. There may have been some hungry lions beneath too!

I like how he objects to the Alan Partridge comparison because that's exactly what Alan Partridge would do.

I'd say it's mostly bullshine. The way he acts with the comparison is very Partridge-esque though imo, which is humorously ironic.

Very interested to hear who talkRADIO have lined to cover some shows, Iain said last night it included some big speech radio legends and that speech radio fans would be foaming at the mouth. He said he couldn't say anything yet only that they were really good presenters.

Personally hoping for Danny Baker (if his 5live contract allows) and Boyd (Iain did say though in the past his boss said no)

AFAIK, Danny Baker won't do a 'talk' show unless he's allowed to play music, unless he's changed his mind. Not sure what the talkRADIO licence says about that. I'd LOVE to see him back, as I miss his BBC London afternoon show with Amy and Baylen very, very much. Danny is my radio god, out and out.

Would love to here Danny on talkRADIO. I also hope The Two Mikes appear on talkRADIO again, i thought they were very good. I enjoy there overnight show but would be nice to have them in daytime, they seemed to have alot more freedom on talkRADIO daytimes rather than when they do talkSPORT daytimes.

I have a feeling though that we are going to be disappointed and the big names will just do a couple of shows. I hope to god that Petrie Hosken doesn't appear.

He told the Periscopers it isn't Danny Baker.

Is Nigel being scammed by Mylie Cyrus ?

Fascinated by the idea that someone could be running a Skype page allowing people to "think" they're talking to her

Interesting call with Jonathan. Iain managed to get him to open up about his childhood and it sounded particularly unhappy and dysfunctional.

When speaking to Jonathan, "Wouldn't you like to have an older man feeling proud of you?" - Now that is Partridge!

Iain keeps saying James Whale won't come back to talkRADIO. Is that a hint that it is Whale sitting in for him?

I've missed a few shows as I've been watching Big Brother and I've a question from last nights show.

The chap that visited Neil Diamonds house on a very entertaining call at the start of a show a few days ago, phoned in to apologise to Iain. He even sent Iain a Moonpig card that cost £3.80. Does anyone know what he did that might have caused offensive?
