I've missed a few shows as I've been watching Big Brother and I've a question from last nights show.

The chap that visited Neil Diamonds house on a very entertaining call at the start of a show a few days ago, phoned in to apologise to Iain. He even sent Iain a Moonpig card that cost £3.80. Does anyone know what he did that might have caused offensive?
He kept saying the show is like Alan Partridge, hence comments about Partridge earlier in this thread.

Iain is more of a Gary Bellamy than a Partridge.

Interesting call with Jonathan. Iain managed to get him to open up about his childhood and it sounded particularly unhappy and dysfunctional.
Just catching up now on the show and that was some amazing radio.

Agreed, i said earlier in this thread although i dont like his view i love his calls. There is just something about him and it was nice to hear a glimpse of the real Jonathan, i think we will hear more of him. I find it fascinating though how he is with Iain, every other presenter i have heard him on with he has lost it even Nick Abbot however with Iain he is very calm.

Remember the other night when Iain was arguing with the fella from Texas about BBC impartiality?

"BBC found guilty of 'clear & consistent' bias against Corbyn" - study

Interesting. I listened to that at 4am this morning when I woke up for no reason. That and the Country singer made the best podcast in a while!

I miss Periscope such a lot! I wish Iain would put it on but ignore us if we get on his nerves, I really enjoy chatting with the others about the show.

Yes, I found it 90 minutes after the start! It was off when I first looked and also never got 'the call'.

Ever since seeing him doing a bad Chris Morris impersonation, spouting Jim Davidson material written by Charlie Brooker, I absolutely loathed the bloke.
I've seen him popping up on radio stations now and again over the years and avoided him like the plague but after his double whammy Buxton/RHLSTP (RHLSTP!) podcast appearance, I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and dip into his talk radio show.

At first, I thought he was ripping of Tommy Boyd too much, right down to some of his inflections, but I'm glad I stuck with it. It's very hit and miss but in a good way.
He's good at radio and I've totally changed my opinion on him.

On the first few shows I listened to, he sang a they might be giants song right the way through and mentioned cardiacs "on land and in the sea" album so he obviously has very good taste in music

I also found Iain's show through the Adam Buxton podcast and I'm very glad I did. The Stephen Murdock show was brilliant.

Tonight's show is completely insane. Make sure your head is strapped up before listening.

An interesting development this evening. Iain made public via Twitter a communication he received from a member of public, threatening legal action over the fact he blocked her on Twitter. Her argument is that despite it being his "personal" account, as he is a "public figure" it contravenes her human rights to be prevented from seeing his posts.

Now, I'm pretty sure that's bullshine but im sort of fascinated by legal stuff like this. Does she have a leg to stand on?

No, just as he has the rights not to be on Twitter at all

Not really, as she's now made all her tweets private and other users have threatened to sue her for breaching the HRA too.

Jonathan and Iain had another heart to heart last night. Jonathan said he didn't know when he last saw his mother and even said he didn't know his birthday, which sounded most unlikely. Is Iain slowly succeeding in turning him from the "dark side"?

Ive said multiple times on this thread that i find him so interesting. Mainly because I've never heard him as he is with Iain, he's very calm and will talk about things Iain is talking about. Every other show I've heard him on including Nick Abbott he goes on a massive rant and usually hurls insults at the presenter.

Liking the show. It's so refreshing to have a call-in radio show without an agenda.

I may have made a slightly less than serious call to George Galloway the other week... what's the likelihood that my number is blocked from calling the station completely?

Pretty sure Iain has said in the past that he will take calls from numbers that have warnings on from other shows. Rob also asked a similar question before calling Howard Hughes.

Does he have a choice? Let's face it, Steve Allen alone gets more listeners every morning than the whole of TalkRadio gets in three months! And that's before you factor-in his stolen biscuits!

Steve Allen doesn't take calls so one call to TalkRadio is instantly more than Allen gets, I don't quite understand your point?
