Alan from Glasgow called Iain a lot on Virgin.

It sounds like Iain's got a two year contract.

i thought they made the right editorial move to avoid talking about the bombs in brussels. everyone else had done it all day, there wasn't any new information to talk about.. it made a good alternative - and people looking for "news" on such big events are likely to tune to the established stations, where they know and subconsciously respect the "authority" / "knowledge" / "skill" of the "old station"
so there was no point in competing with "the same" and there was a likely demand for an escape

The guy who put Monday's show on YouTube is now offering full show downloads. Last night's show is edited to remove ads etc.

https://drive.google.com/folderview?...Ws&usp=sharing

The file size is rather large because it is in 128 kbps stereo.

Have put it down to 64kbps, I assume people want convenience more than anything else and it plays nicer with my upload speed

Good work, thank you - although I fear this may turn into a full-time job for you until TalkRadio come round to the idea of full podcasts!

I'm happy to do it until they start doing full show podcasts themselves,

I know there are people like me who can't listen to the full show live so I hope this helps for the time being

Personally I'm using the 30 minute chunks unofficial podcasts of Iain and Jon's shows. Change play order to Oldest -> Newest and you're away.

There is a tiny glitch using the 30 minute files in that there is a fraction of a second missing between each file. Also now they have upgraded the stream, the stream is now better quality than the 30 minute files. So I continue to do my own recording. However it is nice to know that the 30 minute files are there for backup.

Really hoping this grows. I love Iain lee and his show, but I was just listening to an old Absolute show and he gave out caller positions from 1 to 50 depending when they phoned in. Easily got more than 50 in one show - last night we maybe got 5?

It'll improve over time. People need to realise he is back. Plus he'll add new listeners. I remember the Absolute shows took a good two months to build.

I've updated my completely unofficial podcast feed URL due to capacity problems with the original host.

http://podcasts.mywebcommunity.org/lee.php

I don't actually host any mp3 files - it's just a pointer to the TalkRADIO hosted files.

Some fans may not realise that Alan regularly phoned Iain when he did weekend shows at WM, which was only last year.

Ahh that's good to hear, never got to listen to his WM stuff. I hope Rob Burnett calls more, I've always loved his calls.

Think the only thing Iain is missing at the moment is the really odd stuff, would be good to hear someone like Looney John back or Phillip from South Norwood doing his Pitcher Phil routine.

Can you update the Jon Holmes one lease?

John Loony is a poster on here. But he's not a Loony any more, he left the Monster Raving Loony Party and joined UKIP.

Philip of S. Norwood is a regular contributor to the Joanne Good show on Radio London, he's the International Doggy News Correspondent on Thursdays, often in the studio.

The DAB sound is a lot better too, still low volume, but not so distorted.

Geeky Girl suggested an answerphone system for people who have to get up early in the morning. I then remembered that Iain had an answerphone on Virgin in the early days with Davis. I don't think that lasted very long. Clive Bull had one as well before that around 2006.

'Pitcher' Philip is a serial radio caller, he pops up everywhere. Even heard him call Beswick on Radio Manchester not long ago!

He used to call Nick Abbott and Barkes on LBC a while back but seems to have stopped. His calls were mainly serious though, used to love his random baseball update he did for Iain.
