If you're reading Iain don't take this to heart, most on here like you and listen to you but sometimes everyone has to take a few pelters it's just how it is.”

It's like Twitter being "full of arseholes" when 99% of his mentions are positive. If you tar everyone with the same brush like that, you're gonna convert people into haters.

To be fair, he was very quick to backtrack slightly and point out that most of this thread is fine, there's just the odd post (in particular those of Mr Brunel) that gets to him.

I'm keen to hear the result of that Ofcom complaint. Be sure to post it up here, cheers.

I wouldn't be surprised that the week of pre-records with Iain Lee begging callers every 2-10 min to call into a premium rate number hasn't already resulted in several complaints to Ofcom. I mean did it not occur to ANYONE at TalkRadio the possibility that listeners may actually think the show was live and waste hard earn't money ringing a radio station, been left on hold listening to terrible music for as long as the caller could wait paying a connection charge on average 70p and 3p-20p per minute cost and absolutely nobody in the studio or the building? I mean how long was the caller left on hold before they gave up... 2mins, 20mins, 25mins etc....

Actually I do hope many people do complain to Ofcom and TalkRadio have to refund anyone that called plus compensation + a regulator fine this might give them the kick up the backside they need to scrap this badly thought out idea of an 0844 number and to follow broadcasting and premium rate regulations in future.

I get the feeling that some lazy individual just couldn't be arsed to cut the bits out with Iain giving out the number and the management at TalkRadio are utterly incompetent.]

For me this is a very serious issue by a National Radio Station and that many stations have been fined for the exact same thing, yet this particular issue went out everyday for a week and they must have been reading our posts on here yet still did NOTHING!

I don't think was ever serious, of the 99p charged per download (this may have gone up in the UK but I don't know) Apple takes about 10% and not all (maybe most) of Iain's listeners aren't going to download so it hardly seems worth the bother (if all 5,000 downloaded at 80p it'd raise a princely £4K

I recall when Iain was at LBC he tried to get some song into the charts (can't remember what it was and I occasionally come across it when browsing my Itunes listing) but it never made it and if the audience of LBC Afternoon can't do it then there's no way he's going to retire on the proceeds of the Nigel remix

It was just one of those entertaining things Iain says

Oh I don't think so RightHand most are just decent people commenting on the world's worst sports radio station.

I do wonder what the future has for Iain Lee once Murdoch takes full control of the station, I have a feeling that they will turn TalkRadio into an LBC, Iain Lee will then probably have no choice but to totally change his show format.

Maybe for one night Iain could actually do a full serious show discussing news and cause debate and test it out in terms of amount of calls he gets..

I wonder what Iain thinks about his radio station playing an entire show out as 'Best Of' with NO edits to remove mentions to phone in or watch on periscope.

It's cheap yes, but I have to agree with above posts.. I query what ofcom would think.

I've dipped in and out. Not something I'd listen to regularly but he seems a good host and is clearly very popular. I dip in and out to lots of stations, on radio and online. I never allow myself to get as worked up as you though Bill

I remember a few weeks ago reading a tweet that said Haile Selassie was the messiah. I replied that he was just a very naughty boy and the guy blocked me! Cheek of it.

Random stuff like the Paralympic weightlifter comment are why I love his show. So true and so funny.

I think someone said they rang up and spoke to Ed during the pre-records... But I think any suggestion that it's anything other than a mistake on the station's part is utter bullshine.

Haven't quite a few Sky News presenters left recently, I'm wondering if the station will turn into some kind of Sky news radio with these new 'out of work' presenters turning up in SE1.

So that's the reason Brunel's amusing post was deleted?

What a shame.

Lee said on air he "detests Steve Allen". Steve doesn't patrol this forum getting posts deleted. He's got better things to do.

No... That *MIGHT* have been the reason that Brunel's (In your opinion) amusing post was deleted.

And I don't quite understand how someone detesting Mr Allen equates to someone "Patrolling" a forum?

I have stopped listening to Iain's show. Having been a fan at the beginning the show seems messy and very repetitive (the callers especially). He seems far too taken up with forum and social comments about the show and he isn't of using social media as a positive tool but instead either block people or report about the minority of negative comments on forums etc. It's got kind of boring.
I made a rather innocuous comment on the Periscope feed the other week and he blocked me - It was just a observational comment, and nothing offensive was said whatsoever.. So he has now lost a fan and a listener
I have moved over to Ian Collins now which I have have found a far more structured and more relaxing listening experience before I nod off.

Bit confused, did you stop listening because the show was messy and very repetitive or because you were blocked from Periscope?

Seems this thread is Delete City, ... all forms of criticism and even harmless jesting isn't allowed, not for me chaps I'll stick to where common sense still prevails.

Bye.

Bit of both really but mostly because the show seems unstructured. Lot's of oddball callers talking about random subjects grates after a while.
