The best thing he could do is stop using periscope, reading twitter and forum comments. All of that stuff is so consuming and can ultimately leave one feeling bombarded.
I wish the guy all the best with the show. There were some genuinely funny and interesting shows to look back on.

If i were in Iain's position I would be to use the services of a social media monitoring company, just saying. There can be some really venomous posters out there, and to handle it all on ones own is a very time consuming and stressful task.

Angelos Epithemiou is a character act played by Dan Skinner - he currently tours with Barry from Watford (also a character, sorry). They got paired together for an ill-fated Fubar Radio run but hit it off and have become quite the double act since.

Iain often says to callers who call his show shit to stop listening, yet they still do. Well it's a bit ironic he can't stop looking at a forum he has nothing but negative things to say about.

Iain for your health, close your browser!

I remember a caller-in who really put Iain in his place with regards to his relationship with Twitter. The caller made an extremely 'astute' point. He should really leave it all alone - I am not in the media but if I were I would go no where near forums or reviews.

Thanks for the info. Was Barry from Watford a regular caller to Clive Bull in his Weekend Overnight/10-1 days? Also was Larry from Catford who regularly phoned Bill Buckley Overnights a different person? Larry was definitely my favourite character. His calls to Bill were hysterically great entertainment, as Bill also went into full Camp Showbiz mode.

Barry used to phone Clive on his weekday shows.

Larry was a different person, he was a forum member here (I think he eventually moved to the US).

Iain is all for free speech, call in about whatever you like but if you dare write something remotely negative (although it could be classed as being constructive( about him it gets deleted.

These type of people who are happy to censor others are dangerous individuals.

We should arrange a night where all the DS regulars phone in to protest about his heavy handed censorship.

Wow. ALL of those posts deleted. Man oh man, I have never seen such a heavily censored thread ever!
It is right to maybe be have the occasional one reported but this is veey heavily nodded to the point that it's seems pointless to express an opinion (negative) about the conduct of the presenter or the show.
Mods are very trigger happy on this thread but not so on others. This has really put me off DS and more so any further involvement with the show (although i pretry much dropped off as.a listener due to Iain blocking me on Periscope for what was a very innocent comment...and that the show is not very good in my opinion).

The Talkradio Listeners Facebook page is just the same. Anything that might be construed as remotely negative gets deleted. I had to leave the group after a woman said the show wasnt as good as she remembered in another station had all her posts deleted.

Disappointing to read that posts are being deleted. Iain clearly has some problems when it comes to social media and forums, and he's not doing himself any favours here if he's turning off people who actually like him.

A good balanced thread should be self moderating with people arguing both for and against, and this thread has been way more positive than negative until now.

Cheers Fizzbin. I do miss Larry. Are there any clips of him and Bill online anywhere?

Well the LBC thread has been completely mauled in the past. Obviously if you don't read the threads you wont realise which ones get trimmed. In my experience the Radio forum is the most contentious one on DS, even more so than the Politics one.

What did you say?

Yeah I remember that. Pissed me off as well.

Which posts got deleted btw? And any idea why? I can understand the libelous one getting removed (which I think was the one claiming presenters get a cut of the phone money?) but I don't remember seeing anything else worthy.

I suspect that one expects a bit of robust disagreement on a politics thread, but dishing out personal abuse and insults on a radio thread seems even less appropriate. I've been put off posting on a couple of threads after too many posts playing the man, not the ball, and people who are blatantly WUM's.

i like iain lee...
thought he was great on RI:SE (which i had on at work instead of a business channel)
thought he was the only thing worth watching on big brother spin offs..

but his "irrational" logic is sometimes too annoying to listen to.. my problem, not his....
and so while i often do listen to his show when i am awake i don't think it is aimed at me

the "best off" which seems to be a lot of "filler music" seems to be very samey...

i am not complaining... his show isnt aimed at me to fully enjoy.... same way as rylan on BBOTS is clearly not aimed at me either... (very different examples but its a big entertainment market and I am glad lots of different tastes of entertainment are catered for)

if i owned a tv or radio station and could offer him a job, perhaps he might make a show i prefer... but until then... "Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down,
Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on....." of course there isn't much else on that could be better.... so i keep listening as i know what the opposition are doing, and mr lee might be random enough to do what i wanted to hear....

Just heard a jingle during the Best of Iain Lee telling you not to call as it is a best of and you may be charged.

I have said before countless times that for some reason the radio forum is really weird in that people have all sorts of loyalties etc and it turns people into rabid fanboys and fangirls in a way that television doesn't.

Remember, for a while this subforum had a warning at the top.... why is that? Is radio more "personal"?

Generally speaking, it is only after someone has made a complaint that the Mods here will then keep an eye on a thread and be more zealous about deleting things. They can't check everything without it being brought to their attention.

Rob is always great on Iain's show, tonight though he was very quick and was brilliant.
