[quote=radamfi;84150616]I've been chatting with Katia a bit since 24 June about this stuff but that was the first time she mentioned going back to Belgium. /QUOTE]

I think last week's language coming out of the Conservative Conference changed the mood

A lot of Europeans living in the UK were kind of still happy to be living in the UK, even Farage was saying that Europeans living in the UK would still be ok to live there. The all of a sudden the UK Govt is talking about getting employers to list all the foreigners working for them and Schools sending letters asking parents to report the nationality of the pupils

The country within a week suddenly became a place you have to ask yourself if you want to still live there

Thanks for letting us know that you would never call Iain Lee in the Iain Lee thread, why are you still here exactly if you don't like him?

A listener volunteered to get punched by Iain last night and Iain was well up for it. Kath disapproved and wanted nothing to do with it.

(Yes, Kath does disagree with him sometimes. There was also a "wow" moment earlier on in the show when Iain compared her with Bella Emberg.)

Triss also showed his disapproval. Kyle wanted to be his manager.

Iain's suggested that this "one punch up" event might happen near Christmas.

Are we talking a proper full on punch? I'd pay to see that.

I've been really enjoying Iain's shows on TalkRADIO and having 70/30 switched from LBC. He has some great guests and I like the music / chat content . Good luck to Iain with his record label. It's obviously a labour of love.

Iain and the team handled Nigel's demo tape superbly. I met Sally Moon when I visited the Red Rose reception in 1988 when I was 13 as she had just happened to be there at the same time.

Agree, although I'm not sure either how much he wanted to hear their feedback or whether he will actually change.

He seemed to have a rather stereotyped smoothy radio presenter mode of speaking.

I know Ian was doing a stop-start appraisal and I'm no expert on demo tapes but it all sounded a bit of a mess to me.

PS I love the show overall and especially when Kath is on - she's got a wonderful attitude to life and a very witty sense of humour.

Also, I think there have been some superb interviews Iain has done, like the one with the guy two had written about Jerry Lewis.

I look forward to more.

You prefer Jonathan. You prefer the racist mysogonist troll that is Jonathan. Is this an Ian hate day or an Iain love day?

Really going to miss the unofficial podcasts Mat I don't do iTunes because I can't fathom out how to clip them off the site onto my hard drive. I understand why it's been done and sympathise with the reasoning I'll just have to be patient until they come back again. The show ends too late for me to listen live and these unofficial podcasts were a great blessing thanks for doing all those you did Matthew.
For now I'll be listening to the official pods from the talkRADIO website and just have to put up with the commercials and other breaks for news and sport.
Out of all the shows on the station I just can't see why the new owners would think of binning Iain's show it's one of the best they have by some distance they would have to be mad to scrap it.
