Right. He rings every so often. You would be best getting the podcast and flicking through on the off-chance he rang in.

Cracking show tonight. Space cadets, very amateur pranksters, the fake sheikh herself, and loads of sozzled callers.

Agreed, i think last night was my favourite show yet. Russ made an appearance last night as well, i think it was the first time he's been on since he had a row with Iain a few months ago. Vinny also made an appearance last night as the fake Sheikh. It still surprises me that Fridays are the best show of the week, i thought Iain may loose a few people to Nick Abbott but it dense seem to affect anything.

Yes, great stuff. Also, Ade "who can't get laid" (but can now), a famous old Nick Abbot caller, was on straight-to-air talking about Knight Rider.

One thing we miss from the LBC days is people phoning in who don't understand the show. The people who phoned thinking it was talkSPORT was a close approximation.

Straight-to-air seemed really busy last night.

Russ phoning in again was in one way a bit surprising after the blazing row they had, but in another way not, as he had "resigned" and came back again before.

It was awkward, like two ex-lovers meeting by accident in the street.

I had to laugh at the start of the Russ call he said "Hi Is this LBC" Iain clicked who it was straight away and played along.

There was also a few new callers last night which was nice, as i say i'm surprised about Fridays and there my favourite show of the week by far. The first couple of weeks Fridays were not as good as the other shows due to lack of callers however they seem to have now got really good. I'm not sure if this is people just realising Iain is back or if people were getting fed up of Nick Abbott during the EU Referendum. I'm a big fan of Nick but even i found him quite hard work for the last few months.

I think the some LBC callers not getting it was because of 2 reasons. 1st because before Iain arrived LBC was very much a serious debate/arts station all of a sudden theres a guy on doing things like lets shut down all the libraries or appreciation of smokers. The 2nd i think is the time of the day, you just wouldn't expect a show like that in the daytime where as at night i think you kind of expect it to be a bit more outrageous and slightly more nuts. With Iain being on a new station and on late nights i think your only gonna get a handful of people who phone in to find out what the heck is going on.

I've just been looking through Russ' Tweets. On 19 July he wrote:

"@grecianlad it was very unnecessary, just listen to last Thursday's periscope about 23:50 then watch him during the adverts abusing me"

After that you would have thought there would be no way back and he would be back with his former hero Collins on LBC, but he actually Tweeted Iain three times to contribute to the show on 27/28 September so as well as trying to call him up on a Saturday night he has been back listening for a while.

I'm not sure why but "Tastes like food, doesn't taste like food" was the funniest thing I have heard in a long time.

I really enjoyed talking about knight Rider with Iain, I don't call in very often but Iain is the only show I'd call these days..

Oh boy I loved those two muppets Darren and Johnny on Iain's show last Friday night it was hilarious. I stick by what I've said all along the last hour should be free-to-air every night because that's when it's at its funniest and Iain Lee excels above any other radio broadcaster probably anywhere on earth ad-libbing and dealing with cranky crazy callers.

This clip will specifically play the call from start to end and I realise this particular call wasn't made during free-to-air.

We'll have to agree to disagree Kevin G "Darran" and Johnny were muppets last Friday night, harmless, inoffensive and very amusing but muppets to think they could pull one over on Iain Lee.

The Scotsman John caller was also very strange, he played the Scatman song waiting for it to finish and then started violently coughing / almost throwing up and hung up.

Nigel: Haha ....... there is actually a song a ticket to ride, you know ? Its by The Carpenters i think.

Quality.

I really appreciate it when you highlight classic bits of the show I like to clip them and share them elsewhere and it serves my purpose wonderfully well so thanks because I don't listen live very often preferring the podcasts so next morning I still I haven't heard the show.

The innocence of Nigel is what is so appealing about him, not seeing the bleedin' obvious in that McCartney gag sums him up perfectly, his final comment makes the joke far more funnier than if Iain had just told it on his own.

Iain if you're reading this, have you come across the ShittyFluted videos? Might be good for the 5-past-the-hour song!

Nice to see the resurrection of the "Spring Back Fall Forward" topic, I recall Iain having many people protesting this Daylight Savings Change in his LBC Days

I had high hopes for his show... especially as cheap & basic lbc needs to be brought down a peg or two
his tv stuff was often clever and quick witted.

but his current radio stuff has been either repetitive or more miss than hit.

the biggest issue i have though is he just annoys me. he makes so many school boy errors in train tickets, gig tickets, knowing how things he uses works it just annoys... in the same way as some of the things half of the two mikes say is equally "but that is irrational or two faced" illogical - but the two mikes however have "the correction of those moments by the other mike" as it's gimmick hook.... making it fun to listen to (as long as the subject isnt on the economy as they are clueless)

the conclusion is simple... the show isnt for me, it is for others (ie it is 100% my problem and mr lee is doing nothing wrong) . and i hope one day mr lee's talents find a home in a format where i will like them again. or may be the new owners of the station can help them out with wider content & thus listeners that mr lee can then be bolstered by.
