Weren't you one of the LBC chit chat thread people who used to hate him? The nickname rings a bell.

I agree that the straight-to-air concept is a bit dated. Would be glad to see the back of it.

Sadly it looks likely you'll get your wish as the presenter is thinking about stopping it altogether, in my view there was nothing wrong at all in making the last hour on Fridays STA it could be very funny at times.
It's been played around with too much hence a reduction in straight-to-air callers so now he wants to scrap it, variety is the spice of life isn't it?.

Well Iain Lee must be a bit of an amateur if he doesn't listen to the sagacious advice of all us industry experts on DS.

Iain can tell me 'up yours' as much as he likes....but my heart really ached when he just said he's lost the will to live and wanted Kath to put a tape on.

Iain explained the events that led to Eloise taking over from Davis, which I didn't know before.

Oh là là I'm a pudding!!

Do I really have to elaborate further Iain?.

Go on then, .....

First it's here and staying.

Then it's on trial.

Next reduced to Fridays only.

Then reduced to about 25 minutes taking into account all the commercials.

And then finally threatened with abandonment is it really any wonder STA calls are drying up?.

That is the closing case for the prosecution.

Judge Lee will now retire to his chambers to decide judgement.

It's called free speech Fizz and it's absolutely fine providing defamation and personal abuse are kept out of it.

Had to laugh at Kath's Dickin line when Iain said can people stop asking how he was. Kath as quick as anything went "My health is not in question"

I missed that but waant it along the lined that Davis didn't like some aspects of the show and didn't support it by putting people though/ calling them back etc?

Was along the lines of at the start Iain wasn't confident enough to speak up so he let Davis take the lead and shape the show, even though he thought it was crap. After a few months Iain got more confidence and took the lead but Davis didn't get the show and the ideas. Elouise worked on Iain's show as work experience, they bonded straight away and she got him. He said to her that he wanted her to be his producer, and was going to go to the bosses and tell them to replace Davis with her or he would resign as he couldn't work with him. However on the same day his boss got rid of Davis so it made its a lot easier as he could just ask for Elouise to produce him next, and not have to tell them to get rid of Davis as well.

Going back to Absolute i used to quite enjoy Macca as well who produced Iain when Elouise was off, i thought he did a good job and got the show even though he only did it every so often.

Thanks for clarifying. Eloise was great.

If I recall correctly, Iain first started working with Eloise because he was sitting in for Tim Shaw (who Iain called "Nick" Shaw) who did Friday and Saturday night and Eloise was the usual producer for Tim. It was pretty obvious from those initial shows that there was good chemistry between Iain and Eloise. I have always assumed that he asked management to replace Davis with Eloise but we know from last night that it wasn't necessary.

Eloise has done well for herself and now does a daily show on Magic Chilled 8am to midday. At the latest RAJAR, Magic Chilled got 240,000 listeners (compared to 304,000 for talkRADIO) so she might even get more listeners than Iain now given that she's got a prime slot on the station.

For Christmas I want to hear 'Happy Clappy' Ken, 'Excuse Me' Alan Caddick and 'Creepy' Nigel from Maidstone sing some Christmas carols.

Oh for fu...

Have i missed something again? I wake up and my Twitter consists of Iain and lesser DJ Alex Belfield having a row (we knew he was 'Andy", right?) and at one point the Bellend tries to suck up to the failed gobshite Jon Gaunt in a team-bullying way.

Was "Andy" on again?
