As I mentioned the other day, he left the Monster Raving Loony Party & joined UKIP.

Rob Burnett's contributions over the past week have been utterly fantastic. I've missed him! Glad to see him resurrecting Paulie's infamous catchphrase, too.
Does it involve a famous actor?

Agreed i love Rob's contributions to Iain's show, the Vernon Kay joke he did the other night was fantastic, as soon as i heard "my mate Vernon" i knew it was going to be gold.

I thought it was Sharon Osbourne's dad, Don Arden that used to hang people out of windows when he was a manager.
He used to stub out cigars on people and all sorts.
He was quite a character.

Evenin' Sleeps.

One of the topics on Iain's show tonight is 'sleep' but no-one has called in about it and Iain hasn't mentioned it since.
I've noticed that the subjects chosen for discussion usually get sidelined quickly in favour of more random themes.
I like that though, I like it when things go off at a tangent and it becomes a free-for-all, anything goes format.
One thing that started to annoy me a bit about Nick Abbot is that he gets irritated when callers go 'off topic' - he comes out with his line 'What's that got to do with anything we're talking about?'
I much prefer Iain's style, he's happy to go with the flow, it makes for much better radio.

Until 2007, Nick would talk about anything.

I'm the same, I only listen to LBC for Nick.
Last Friday, I did the dirty on Nick and tuned in to Iain instead.
What did you decide to do, Rich?
I'm wondering if Nick will lose listeners to Iain.
I'm considering going back to Nick and listening to Iain's Friday night show on podcast.
I attempted to hedge my bets and tried a bit of both for an hour before turning them both off!

Mention of memorable callers who are returning to air on TalkRadio reminds me of one who I have not heard in years who used to phone Ian Collins during his Creatures Of The Night days. Roger from Bristol who would get into some quite deep discussions. He had one of those rather memorable voices. I suddenly stopped hearing him at some point a long time ago.

I said the show the other day was better as there was less of her. I did like the 'bants' between Kath and Kelly on the BBC show but sometimes when its her and Iain I'd rather hear the occasional contribution as it sounds sometimes she tries to hard. She is a very attractive lady mind you.

Oops

Somehow I missed that, possibly as it is at the bottom of the last page.

I also missed reading the post about Emma phoning BBC R London

I have actually been surprised at how little Kath there has been. I had assumed she would be in the studio when there were no calls, but she's probably busy doing other stuff meaning that Iain has to fill by reading out of the paper. Do you prefer him speaking to himself in those situations, or would you have preferred say Agent Chris or Eloise?

Shouldn't she be getting the podcast ready? The less I hear her the more I enjoy the show, as you said she tries way to hard to say something meaningful but in my opinion if you ain't got anything interesting to say then just nothing.

I just noticed that Kath posted on Twitter yesterday morning about reading the post on DS and in the following conversation with Penny she sounded upset. I'm very fond of Kath. She's articulate and highly intelligent. However if you are on the radio then criticism is inevitable.

She says she has to do the podcast during the show. I would prefer it if she did it after the show, but obviously she would get home even later then.

A few pages back someone called her 'that annoying woman'.

Personally I like her, shes quick-witted and keeps him in check!

I really like Kath. I didn't listen during the 3CR days so I didn't know what to expect, but I enjoy the rapport between Iain and her. I was laughing out loud at her suggestions during the "Sex Crime" stuff.

I've noticed on ere, there are a vast amount of posters who are downright rude, and there is no need for it

There were technical problems again last night during straight-to-air and Iain got very frustrated. He's been indicating that straight-to-air after midnight might not be permanent, however when Ed said he could put the calls through himself, Iain didn't want him to do that.

Nick Abbot in his Virgin days remains my favourite radio ever.
I love the guy, we have similar taste in music but I think he's stifled at LBC.
I'm interested in politics but there's too much of it everywhere, I just want a laugh and Nick Abbot is a naturally, genuinely funny bloke.
I don't get why he's wasting his comedic talent on serious subjects - anyone can do serious, his talent is rare.
I'd like him to let loose and be more like the Nick of old but perhaps he just prefers what he's doing now.
Maybe it's just that he grew up and I didn't.

I think his shows are the way they are due to the stations policy, having said that I do wonder if he was approached by TalkRADIO & wasn't interested, perhaps he likes the stability, this is the longest he's been with a station.
