iPad Pro £100 more expensive than Air 2
This is incredible to increase the price just by adding a pencil which not everybody wants.
Really bad call 32gb too £599 you could get the Air 2 for £579 in a 64gb before. I think this will decrease sales to be honest. Infact as somebody who would tend to upgrade I went from the Air 1-2 I wouldn't consider this model. You know already come 2017 more likely changes like no headphone jack and new connector will come plus 4K more likely next year. How can they justify £100 more for half the storage and a pencil basically? A flash is probably worth about a quid in an IPad if not less. |

Just noticed the pencil for sale on eBay for £60 so maybe people who want to go from Air 1-2 would maybe consider selling this accessory.

. The Air isn't replaced by the Pro - it is in addition. Those that don't want the Pro's feature can save money by going for the air. |

Faster processor, better display, more (stereo) speakers that react to the orientation of the display. The "pro" does more with it's software than the air.

I reckon next year they will have to sell the pencil sepetate to bring the price down. Stereo speakers is hopeless as you can buy Bluetooth speakers which are better. 32gb is a downgrade and 128gb is too much. |

The pencil is separate. You don't get one included with either size of iPad Pro.
I can't see them phasing out the Air 2 so quickly. Perhaps in a couple of years time. After all, they kept the iPad 2 around for ages as an entry level model, and they're keeping the Mini 2 as an entry level option at the smallest size. The range seems quite solid now. Two options at 7.9", two options at 9.7" and the Pro on its own at 12.9" |

It's still blazingly fast and I'm not interested in the pencil and the smart case. |

New processor And slightly better screen under sunlight Nothing else new from Air 2. 2GB ram just confirmed same as Air 2 aswell. This is very poor update and anybody going from an Air or Air 2 shouldn't waste there money. |

iPad Pro 9.7 128GB just ordered.
Didn't like the first one as I felt the screen was too big for my own purposes, but the regular 9.7" screen is perfect. Also ordered all the gadgets to go with it. This will be the first iPad I've owned for a few years and I'm looking forward to it arriving next week. |

Is it? I would only consider the AIr 2 if I was purchasing this year. I reckon that an update to the Air 2 will be along in about 12 months time.

Did you consider the Surface 3? Better keyboard cover including trackpad, runs apps and full PC programs, standard USB port for USB sticks, external hard drives, cameras etc, micro SD slot to expand the storage, HDMI out where you can add a second display, built in kickstand, virtual desktops, user accounts and so on.
And £120 cheaper. "Surface 3 needs a serious upgrade. It needs Core M processors. Atom is not much powerful to run a Desktop OS." "Totally ignoring the real issue which is the Surface makes a lousy touch device and the iPad Pro or otherwise is the gold standard touch tablet." "Any Surface is unusable without the Type Cover" |

"Any Surface is unusable without the Type Cover" Can I link to a quote of me saying the Surface will cure cancer and enlarge your gentlemen's sausage? Because that would be just as valid. I have a Linx Windows 10 tablet. It has all the features I listed bar the kickstand. I run full Windows PC programs and it's great for touchscreen. And it doesn't do the naff blurring the iPad does when you resize apps when multitasking. And if I want to do some serious work I can add a full size keyboard and mouse (which the iPad can't) and a second display ( which the iPad can't) and use it as a dual screen PC running full programs. And it cost £150 brand new. |

And how much was the Air 2 selling for this time last week? Haven't they just reduced the price of the Air, rather than made the Pro £100 more than the Air was when it was the current top end model? Oh wait. Apple = common sense and reason window of the out. |

I must admit I'm surprised that the new 9.7" iPad Pro is exactly the same as the iPad Air 2, apart from adding support for the pencil.
Are you sure that's the only difference? The iPad Air 2 has been reduced by £50 from last week - and is still on sale. Quote:

It was all surprisingly sensible until that cheap jibe!

If you get a new iPad every year, you're definitely in the minority.
Some people would have me down as an Apple nut, but still have an iPad 3. The friend I sold the iPad 2 to STILL loves it and has no plans to change! |

Something I have asked people before, if you'd never heard of the Surface and I gave you a Surface without the keyboard and in tablet UI what would make you think it was lacking? What exactly can the iPad do that the Surface can't in terms of tablet usability? Until a few months ago the iPad couldn't even multitask, something all Surfaces could do nearly four years ago. |

Of course it is not! The IPad Pro 9.7 inch has a 4-speaker dynamic stereo sound system (first seen on the 12.9 inch), an upgraded (lower reflectance) screen, improved CPU, 12 Mpixel camera etc.
