It runs iOS which is my prefered operating system on a touchscreen device.
Imo the iPad has a better tablet interface
It comes with sufficient internal storage. I value internal storage over supplementing with an SD card.
Through the App Store I have access to high quality tablet apps. I've no interest in running desktop apps on a low end tablet.
I have access to all my media that I purchased for iTunes.
The build quality of the iPad is more premium
I know that my iPad will be supported with software for many years to come.
Apple provide excellent after sales support.
The higher resolution matters to me as I use it to watch a lot of videos and to view my photos.
I have a Mac. I don't own any Windows products so why would I buy the Linx tablet.”
You say you don't want Windows, but again no reason. IMHO the Windows 10 UI is better, you disagree. But again that's personal preference, not a matter of features.
Why prefer internal storage? What is the benefit? Micro SD card expansion give you more storage for far less money, can be bought anytime and if your tablet gets dropped and smashed you can just take the SD card out and any files that might not have been backed up will be safe and sound. Why is internal storage better?
Why say "low end" tablet? My linx has run every desktop program I have ever installed on it. I can play a HD video in the media player, another HD movie in MPC and be downloading another HD video on Youtube and have all three playing on the screen at once, perfectly. If that's "low end" then what do you do with your tablet?
iTunes will run perfectly on the Linx and have all your media for you.
Build quality? Possibly. The Linx isn't going to win any style awards but it's certainly not cheap and nasty.
Microsoft typically support their OS's for fifteen years or so. They have said Windows 10 will be supported "forever" rather than a Windows 11 or whatever replacing it.
After sales? Again, quite possibly. Can't comment as I've never had to contact Linx. However I could just throw it away and buy a new one and still be less out of pocket.
Higher resolution? Again, possibly. Though playing HD demo videos the picture on the Linx is great. I've seen the Linx and the iPad Air side by side and if you can see a difference when surfing the net I'd be amazed. And if you play lots of videos at high enough resolution to support the screen then expandable storage becomes and even better feature. The iPad Air 2 at £430 only goes up to 64GB, and a chunk of that is the OS. A Linx and a SC card can get you over 150GB of storage for well under £200. A bunch of HD movies will quickly fill up that 64GB and if you're on a plane or away from network coverage then the cloud won't help.
And your last point the Linx does everything the ipad can do, and lost more, and will happily run iTunes and have all your media available. Even if they cost the same price I'd choose the Linx.
I'm not going to go on. No one has come up with any genuine reasons why the iPad is better than a Windows tablet other than (slightly) better weight and display resolution, integration with other Apple products (which doesn't apply to anyone who already has a PC) and vague "it's better" or "I prefer iOS". (Comments which when I make I get told are only opinions not facts) While the long list of features of Windows tablets (expandable storage, proper USB ports, user accounts, can run full programs, can run as dual display PC, virtual desktops, proper multitasking etc are all dismissed as "not important."
I believe in paying for top quality goods. I bought a Miele washing machine because they're the best. My toaster is a Dualit because ditto*. Fridge and dishwasher Bosch. TV is a top spec Samsung. I happily pay to get the best. My Linx tablet does so much that the iPad can't that it is just a better machine. I'd buy it if it cost more than an iPad. The fact it costs well under half the price is a bonus.
I know I'm unlikely to change anyone's mind.
*Yes, I spent £150 on a toaster. Twenty years ago. And it still works perfectly.
