I went last night to see her at the O2. She was bloody amazing
There was no support act. It's just a DJ playing until she comes on. She's on stage for about 1 hour 45 minutes in total. |

I went to see her in Leeds, the night she was late at the audience booed her.
There was no support act, just a dj. She was great. Wheeled out most of the hits. I'm definitely glad I went, even if she didn't play a lot of my favourites. I didn't think she was on for very long at all, hour and a half perhaps? But then again I did get quite drunk so can't really remember

I got tickets for Manchester when they first went on sale and then decided to get some for London too as god knows when she's going to come back. I had a great time on both nights. The set was relatively short but I had a lot of fun. I missed a few of the songs, Dreamlover, Make It Happen etc but I've seen them performed loads so I got over it quite quickly. Especially with her doing songs she hasn't done in years. Without You and Against All Odds are two of my favourites anyway. Two really good nights out.

Anyone who says that Mariah has lost it is talking rubbish. For a good few years now people have been saying she's crap so I wasn't expecting much to be honest. She was fantastic though! Obviously she hasn't got the voice she once had as she's older now, but she really was fantastic!

I have to say though, I think she mimed at least 20% of it. Her voice nowadays is very raspy, whereas 90s Mariah is clear as a bell. And suspiciously, whenever she went for those big notes, she sounded like 90s Mariah rather than how she sounds now. I've watched the gig I went to (leeds) on YouTube and it's really evident. Especially on Without You. She simply doesn't have that range anymore, but funnily enough she did when she went for the big notes still a great gig and I'm glad I've seen her 80% live anyway, 13 year old me would be very jealous

I enjoyed it immensely. Was a huge Mariah fan in the early to mid 90s, and she's still a guilty pleasure of mine.

Can she still hit a G7 whistle note, most likely but it might take her 10 attempts to get there. In a live show she doesn't have 10 goes, she only gets one shot. I've no doubt she can still hit the notes technically but she's lost the consistency, fluidity and agility she once had so it's harder for her to sing a 3 minute song in one take and hit every note. Anyway let us not detract from what has been an amazing set of concerts in the UK. I thought the set list was good. Obviously there are a lot of non singles that I would have liked to have heard but that was obviously not going to happen. I'm still in shock that she sang loverboy! The medley was actually really good. When you watch shake it off, obsessed and touch my body on YouTube they look boring but live they actually translate well. If I could have added one more song it would have been vision of love. However if she'd sung that I might have gone into labour from the slayage.

She seemed to have got good reviews for this so good for her, although I did read a review earlier in the week praising her for performing her hits whilst slating madonna for coming on and performing her album tracks, this really irritated me is he suggesting for some reason once you have reached a certain age your not allowed to perform anything new you should just reform back to your back catalogue,

She's had a really good tour. Great (and pretty full) crowds, some really good reviews too. Wish shed have done some TV considering she's been living in London for the whole tour but after getting some of her best responses in years hopefully she will come back to the UK on more tours with her next releases. Expect 90s Mariah, you'll be disappointed. Come in with realistic expectations, it's a great night out. |
