I know you've had some issues recently Millie1366 so what I'd suggest is bringing up the problems on specialist ebook reader forums such as this one http://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=223 and this one here http://www.nobooko.com or you could try getting help from Kobo themselves here https://www.kobo.com/help?style=onestore&store=GB. Good luck!
If all else fails, Kindle e-readers can be had for between £50-£60. |

OK - I have posted on this and the online Library have been trying to help and i have lots of downloaded help sheets. I have worked through them but no results - but - just once a book downloaded. How it happened I don't know.
Once I am told to start going into directories I find it too confusing. In the end I have gone around in circles. 1. I can go into my Library Account and download an epub book. 2. It used to download to Adobe Digital Editions and I connect my KOBO and then I drop the book onto it. NOW 3. As soon as I have downloaded it from the library it immediately opens up Overdrive. Then I am stuck - I think I could read it on my laptop but that is not want I want to do. I felt things went wrong when I upgraded to Win 10 last week but I am being told that would not make a difference. I am not sure what other info you need at the moment. I have that many 'help sheets' I think I need to file them in date order. Thank you for offering to try and help. |

I thought long and hard about KOBO -v-Kindle so it is relatively new and I wanted it to download books from my Library and Ii thought this was the best choice. The library themselves are really trying to help. Anyway how would a Kindle be better - is it set up differently? |

It's more to do with Adobe Digital Editions on the PC than it is about the Kobo. |

Thank you all - I will read through everything tomorrow. Some of the links I also recognize.
My son is coming to see me tomorrow and bringing his laptop just to see if he sets his up I can download a book from there. We thought it might be worth a try..... I have re-set my Kobo just in case. I will start on utube links for awhile before I stop for the night. Thank you all again. |

I just cannot remember where I found the link to manage this. I sat last night and filed ALL my ‘help sheets’ supplied, feedback and my google searches into a Folder. (I had spent too long going around in circles.)
This morning I sat up in bed with folder (how sad is that) and read through them all and put notes. Then I came across one page headed ‘Windows 10: Associate a File Type with a Specific App.’ IIt took me awhile to find my way around Win10 for Control Panel >Programs>Default Programs>Set Associations. I braved it and ....... I loaded a new book (my account had failed books) in the hope to have a ‘fresh’ start. I went to checkout and it went to ADE and into library! I connected my KOBO and couldn’t believe my eyes it loaded there! This seemed so simple – however – until you know 'how'! Other things are happening e.g. in Computer files, a bit above my head, but will look at downloaded help sheets later to do a 'tidy' up. Thank you all. Have a lovely Easter Break! |
