March 2016 SW Update
I just got a message on my YouView box telling me that the "Help" button on the remote can now be used to access help! How did they ever think of that?
Also, the power settings now can switch from deep sleep power saving mode at night to a faster start setting in the day. Sadly, they seem to have decided that I need a fast start-up most of the day, when I don't think I've ever used the box before 5pm on weekdays in the last 2 years. Maybe these restricted settings are needed to keep downloading new software? Otherwise it seems a pointless restriction. I'd be happy with deep sleep eco mode from midnight to 17:00 everyday (with a bit of a wait if I want to watch TV on a weekend afternoon). |

The midnight to 5.00AM deep sleep is the default setting. You can set your own preferred timings in the Settings menu.

The default setting for SMART mode on my box is 1am to 5am.
Also, you can still select the high/low ECO modes if you want (renamed ENERGY SAVER/ALWAYS ON). |

I'm not talking about the default settings. I'm talking about the limits when you try to change the default settings.

I left my start time as 1am & changed the end time to 8am. I didn't realise that when you go past 9am, it reverts back to 4am. So the start limits are 9pm to 3am, & the end limits are 4am to 9am. |

This is actually an improvement in your service, and should save you money in the long term. It may not be exactly what you wanted, but it is certainly more than you had. As you intimated in your original post, there may be technical reasons why it cannot (yet) be more flexible.

I know I sound like a right whinger, but the responsiveness to the remote seems to have got worse since the last update. Still not as bad as when I first got the box, but worse than it was a week or two ago.

How do you change these start and end times?
