Ipad Update issue
Mileymoo
26-03-2016
Since i updated my ipad this morning i had issues going online. I can get Google up and do a search, when i click on a link in the search it wont open. i had an online chat with Apple this morning, the best they said was to turn Javascipt off. It's now working but with limited capabilites. They say a forced restart could help but it isn't great as it affects ipads. i'm at a loss and a bit annoyed to be honest.

it's not a wifi issue as Facebook Twitter still works ok.

Any ideas please?

Sounds like a browser issue, are you using Safari or Chrome or different?

How do other browsers react when online?

Which version of iPad are you using?

It's an Ipad air 2, it won't work on any of the browsers with javascript enabled. now i've forgotten my passcode and i'm in danger of locking it completly. Getting angry with it now!

This has happened to me as well. Safari and Chrome have the same issue.

The web address bar has a black padlock beside the word used to search and when clicking on any of the search results it doesn't even attempt to load the page.

I've just tried clicking on a external link someone posted on a thread on digital spy and again it's not working.

Which iPad?
iOS 9.3?
Which site are you searching from?

Doing a search from Google.co.uk on my iPad mini 2 with iOS 9.3 is fine.

Have you tried going to Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data? I had a similar issue once but it was fine once I done that.

No problem here. Have you done the obvious stuff such as reboot the iPad?

Yes done that. It's very bizarre. It's like some sort of lock has been implemented.

The 'padlock' symbol just means it is a secure connection. What are you seeing?

After posting the above advice, and then having the same problem and following my own advice(!) I'm still finding that websites links are not working on these forums, although Google and other sites seems to be workjng fine, and I'm not getting the same issue on my iphone, which is also running iOS 9.3.

I've also trying restarting my device, an ipad Air 2, still stuck with the problem.

No it's not. That's not likely to appear until after the WWDC, usually in June.

Maybe tomorrow is June?

After I had a problem trying to install version 9.3 I read there's a problem with this version, particularly on earlier iPads. Apple are going to release an update within a few days. So hopefully that will cure the problem.

As it happens I couldn't install version 9.3. I removed the downloaded update (done in settings). When I now check for updates it tells me my current version is up to date and doesn't mention 9.3. Looks like Apple have pulled 9.3 until the problem is sorted.

My devices are ok (iPhone 6S plus, mini 3, air 2). However this bug has been widely publicised. You are not alone. Don't worry Apple will release a fix shortly. Probably within the next 2 weeks max.

It's a reminder not to be too hasty in downloading the latest updates to operating systems. Give time for others to find the problems and Apple to solve them.

It looks like it might be the booking.com app (and possibly some others) that has caused this, thanks to a bug in iOS.

Have you solved the problem yet?. I am having the same troubles.
At the moment I am getting over it by downloading the apps for the problem ones eg Google, banking &. Couple of other ones I have.
They released a new update after hearing of the troubles but that still didn't work for me.
Does anyone know if it's still an ongoing problem & are they doing anything about it.?
