Samsung Hdd/dvd Player - No Signal Problem
Hoping that someone might be able to help!
I have connected it up to my TV without any problem, but even though I know that the aerial is plugged into it properly it is not receiving a signal at all. I have tired connecting it with the aerial in my living room and in my bedroom with the same result, yet I there is no problem when I connect them to other set top boxes. Obviously this leads me to think there's a problem with the unit, but just thought I'd ask here as a last resort, basically before I just give up on it and throw it out. |

Presumably you've tried retuning it?, what does it say when you do?.

Yes, it says no signal when I switch it on, and I know there's no problem with the aerial, and if I do go through a channel scan it obviously doesn't find anything. The only thing I can think of is that the aerial socket has got damaged somehow, but it doesn't look as though it as.

It would help if you told us the exact model number. I can't find any recorders listed on the Samsung website in their current model range.

![]() The manual is available here http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/DVD-SH893M/XEU Page 36 describes the tuning procedure. In the Auto Scan menu make sure that you select Digital as the channel type, if it's set to Analogue it will never find anything. Also make sure Country is set to UK. Another thing to check is that the aerial lead is connected to the upper connector on the rear panel. |

Thanks for your help. I have tried again but, sadly, can still not get a signal through this box. It looks like I'm going to have to give it up as a bad job
