After an all-in-one Kodi, Sky Go, local media streamer
I currently use a WD TV Live to stream local media files from a HDD to the TV, an old XBOX 360 for Sky Go, a Chromecast for BT SPORT and a laptop for the very rare occasion when I wish to use Kodi.
What I'm after is an ALL IN ONE box solution. I've been looking at the NVIDIA SHIELD for media streaming and as a replacement for the Chromecast and when using KODI but this is not suitable for Sky GO. So that's 3 out of 4. I know I could use KODI for the EPL games but in the past these have been very poor quality so resort to using the laptop (via web browser) to watch any games not on Sky. Is a small form factor PC the only way to have my cake and eat it? It would live under the TV so would need to be silent, small and for a reasonable price. Thanks, |

Thanks, I read somewhere that the fire tv used to support skygo via the android app but it does not any more if its running the latest fire tv software, you may get it working on windows box or a laptop connected to your tv either way it will have to be compatible with silverlight. |

The nvidia shield in my opinion is the best streaming box on the market its almost perfect for you, i think you may find it to find any box that will support sky go due to the hdmi drm restrictions.

I have an Intel nuc running kodi under windows. I have installed a sky go add on which runs perfectly mapping the remote to the onscreen controls. I still use my chromecast for bt though it's just easier.
Need to make sure you have an auto hot key script to refocus and launch kodi after you have finished with sky go. I used to use the syborg addon but someone's released a better version its on his thread |

What I'm after is an ALL IN ONE box solution. Sky Go is really the only stick in the mud as it's purposely programmed not to run on rooted devices. As a rule of thumb, always go for Amlogic devices. I've always been told they have the highest level of compatibility with Kodi as the company actually provided the Kodi developers with the necessary drivers. You can get by on 1GB of ram, but 2GB will probably be ideal. Something like this from Gearbest in China http://www.gearbest.com/tv-box-mini-pc/pp_334005.html No idea if it's rooted or not, but it's a steal for that price alone. I think all you'll have to do is identify a box and just contact the seller to see if it's rooted. There are always new plugins being released for Kodi for EPL games as well. I can usually watch any game i like in good SD quality as a minimum and occasionally in full HD as well. I find plusnet are more of the problem when it comes to streaming stuff than the actual quality of the link. |

Thanks for the replies,
Gearbest seem to have some interesting stuff but I have seen loads of comments about late or non existent deliveries etc. |
