A great thing about the original show was that it used to plot a journey for the contestants starting from a low-key room audition, moving into larger (public audience-free) auditorium, then an exotic location, then a live public audience, then somewhere like Wembley stadium. In the last series, it was pretty much all in the same sort of venue, all in front of a public audience. Every show felt more or less the same. It was just boring. I didn't stick with it. Regards, Cypher I'm really glad that Dermot is back. |

When the last show you presented is resting on the seabed a sinking ship looks like a good alternative.

Seems a pretty desperate move, Dermot is a competent presenter but given the show has been in decline since 2011 I can't see viewers suddenly flocking back just because he's returned when Cowell and Sharon Osborne's return had no effect.
Cowell has clearly run out of ideas but instead of resting the show and allowing goodwill and nostalgia to build up to enable a successful return he will run the show into the ground. Quote:
If i was in Dermots shoes i would have said stick your offer. They clearly underestimated how improtant to the show he was. Xfactor is a sinking ship now why go back?
Even if the X Factor ship does sink, Dermot will have still earned a big salary from them, so I don't think it will make too much difference to him! |

I didn't watch for the first time ever last year because they'd dropped Dermot. It will probably tempt me back. I just hope Louis isn't on the panel as I have never liked him.

I hope they are getting rid of the utterly fake chair challenge. I also hope that Grimshaw (or whatever his name is) twit is gone.

Don't see why they bothered.
The presenter of the show has like 5 minutes of total input. The viewers that left the show in their millions aren't going to suddenly go "omg wow that moderately professional, but kinda dull bloke is back, lets go back to the XF we stopped watching 3 years ago". The downward slope started when he was there anyway. |
