In the last series, it was pretty much all in the same sort of venue, all in front of a public audience. Every show felt more or less the same. It was just boring. I didn't stick with it.

I completely agree with this, it was all very samey last year with the venues.

I'm really glad that Dermot is back.

Which show was that?

I don't think it's particularly desperate, he's very good at the job, calm, good with live TV, makes it look easy, etc. Why not have someone who is good at it?

I thought he chose to leave. Was he dropped from the show?

Even if the X Factor ship does sink, Dermot will have still earned a big salary from them, so I don't think it will make too much difference to him!

I didn't watch for the first time ever last year because they'd dropped Dermot. It will probably tempt me back. I just hope Louis isn't on the panel as I have never liked him.

I hope they are getting rid of the utterly fake chair challenge. I also hope that Grimshaw (or whatever his name is) twit is gone.

Welcome home Dermot.

Good riddence to Olly and Caroline.

Don't see why they bothered.

The presenter of the show has like 5 minutes of total input. The viewers that left the show in their millions aren't going to suddenly go "omg wow that moderately professional, but kinda dull bloke is back, lets go back to the XF we stopped watching 3 years ago". The downward slope started when he was there anyway.

The presenter is an important part of any show. They have to carry it and need to be professional.
