Just had to resurrect this topic to talk about his acting in the scene when he finds out Sharon knew about Ben killing Lucy.

Bloody hell that was truly embarrassing.

He's an embarrassment to the profession of all young actors.

His acting is so forced. He needs to relax a bit. His facial expressions are extraordinary....sometimes he looks like he's in labour. Still at least he didn't start kicking things about.

I personally didn't think he was any worse than anybody else in that scene. The writing for it was rushed and clunky and even the most experienced of actors would have struggled to convey the right emotions. Ben literally went from clueless to angry to "protect Bobby at all costs" mode in the space of about thirty seconds.

Oh how I love it when people put 'tonight' instead of the date in the title of a thread

That's the emotion all the actors in this storyline have been asked to portray. Some have done better than others. Clunky is a word for it I call it unrealistic. Bobby the kid nobody cared about for years ends up as the kid that must be protected at all costs.

Yeah, he's not great is he. They never get it right with the Ben casting.

His reaction was utterly cringeworthy more like

He overplayed it big time there was absolutely nothing heartbreaking about that embarrassing performance. He simply cannot act dramatic scenes that is clear to see.

They've tried enough times to get it right!

I respect your opinion but I don't agree.

Sorry but I felt Harry did well tonight, he had me blubbering like a baby! It was heart wrenching to watch how utterly devastated he was.

Harry Reid was fantastic tonight- his anger and grief were believable and gripping and actually had me in tears.

As another poster said, his acting style was appropriate for tonight's scene and I completely agree. But I guess we all have different opinions

I very rarely get emotional watching soaps but Ben's reaction and also the moment Les burst into tears after pouring the tea down the sink were both heartbreaking and brilliantly acted scenes. I'm impressed that Harry Reid's acting has improved massively lately.

I didn't post it looking for anyone to agree but was pleased to see a few did agree.

He's a dismal actor when doing dramatic/emotional scenes and for me that is fact not an opinion.

To anyone who says his performance was OTT I can only assume you've never felt loss. I remember when my mum died I couldn't hold back the screams and tears.
