DO you think the ratings will be back on track this year

No they will fall even further I think people are just generally over the X factor now

Rating are an out of date way of measuring the success of a show like this. Watching in real time, people are still choosing Strictly. Generally, a younger audience is out on a Saturday night and will watch on catch up. Ratings figures with these combined into them are generally still quite good.

I think they will be back once again like the renegade master

Unless they pull out a new decent panel, and I don't mean the likes of Cheryl or One Direction or cheap The Saturday members, then the overnight ratings will fall again.

X Factor will never return to its peak audience of 15 million viewers like it was getting in 2010.

However, if they have really good singers/groups in the live shows then word of mouth might spread and get people watching for the right reasons.

If you turns into "did you see Cheryl last night, my God she's thin" or "did you see Sharon throw water over Simon, it was so funny" then yeah...maybe not.

I hope the show never sinks that low, to go from Kelly Rowland and Nicole Scherzinger to The Saturdays.

I think at best they can stablise the ratings and stop the free fall, but I'm not sure Simon's ego will be satisfied with that and he would rather run the show into the ground then for it to keep being beaten by Strictly.

It's been following BB trajectory in terms of ratings. So no best it can do is stabilise. It's lost the ABC1 audience as it's old hat / too tacky. It was a guilty pleasure for this audience for a few years but they now dismiss it. You've also had the age demographic issues. They've managed successfully to switch off both older and younger viewers. The push for the latter driving away the former. The push for the latter being largely ineffective as XF is seen as naff by many youngsters.

X Factor is in freefall and there's no saving it. Back in 2013 I would have said there's a chance, but not now. Serves X Factor right really.

IT just keeps changing to much to try and chase viewers when in reality, it just needed to stay the same as it was in series 5-7

I think every year now it will just go down and down

There's no saving it now. It's a running joke about how awful TXF has become whilst SCD comes on in leaps and bounds.
I'd go as far as to say that a panel without Cowell might be the only way forward in order to get a real sense of freshening up the show.

I wouldn't be surprised if they'll be as low as The Voice currently is. That seems to be a theme: The Voice gets low ratings compared to last year's X Factor, fast forward to winter and X Factor gets lower ratings than The Voice had earlier in the year.

Truth is, singing competitions are stale and a thing of the 00s/early 10s whether it's X Factor, The Voice or the Pop Idol format. Shows on Netflix seems to be the new pop sensation in regards to TV programming that everyone's talking about. When the new contract runs out I'm sure ITV and Simon will agree that X Factor needs to be put to rest. And maybe come back after enough time has past.
