A lot of actors don't want to be in as a soap long term. For example, there is a revolting mass murderer in Hollyoaks (where else?) at the moment called Silas, and he is shortly to be in a BBC remake of a Steptoe and Son story called A Winters Tale where he will play Albert Steptoe
If they were to go on to make a series he couldn't really credibly be a mass murderer every evening and a totter as well.I think the 4th April spoiler with Gordon and Liv more or less confirms he is going down, he has lost his last supporter.
