Not looking forward to Friday

It's not really the same at all. Robert was much younger when Sarah came into his life and he didn't have any other mother. Andy knew his parents. Andy wasn't related to any of the Sugdens biologically whereas Robert was always Jack's son and Vic's brother.

Robert was actually closer to Sarah than Jack so he's going to mention her and what he lost by not having her around. I wish they'd touch on it more with him and Vic tbh because Robert has memories of her no-one else could share with Vic..... Maybe when Vic has a baby.

I see what you mean. I actually up until recently didn't even know Sarah wasn't Roberts biological mum simply because I can't remember a time where it's been mentioned so I just didn't pick up on that until Roberts birthday recently.

When jack cheated on Sarah with Rachel, Robert stayed with her and vic while jack went to live in Annie's cottage. As you say he was a lot closer to his mum then his dad hence his bitterness towards Andy for taking her away, as not only did he lose a mum he was left with a father who he couldn't really connect with who was getting on with the kid who killed his mum much better. Jack let Robert down in the aftermath of his mothers death as he never really understood Roberts pain and anger and instead fobbed him off on Annie.

Just tell them what you did see, they cannot expect anything else. I've been a witness in court and they tend to look after witnesses. Good luck

Interesting point.Although the two situations are different I do agree that I would have expected Robert to mention his mum occasionally,despite the fact that he only knew Sarah as his mum.And it is the same in the sense that Andy wasn't Jack's but he regarded him as his dad,just like Robert wasn't Sarah's but he regarded her as his mum

Yeah it was a very difficult time for Robert and he was not really understood properly

Yeah he has Daz who left in fear of Andy's threats because Daz and Vic were seeing each other. Andy didn't like it yet it's ok for him to shag Bernice .


It's not really mentioned because there's not much story in bringing up a dead mother you never knew and who nobody in the village even knows. How would Robert even throw that in there to anyone in the village in conversation? In the real world we'd discuss things like that with our partners but in soaps they only really show us something relevant to a story.


I completely forgot he sided with Sarah tbh. That's a bit of a blur for me as I was a kid and watching soaps wasn't always my priority .

I do wish they'd use it as a motive to explore Robert's thoughts and feelings rather than as a catalyst for Robert and Andy drama.

It could have been relevant in some of his conversations with Andy and Vic.Would be nice to hear him mention her from time to time

I don't think he'll be having many conversations with Andy for a while, at least not untill Andy is finished with the White family

Yeah definitely true. Andy see's Jack & Sarah as his mum & dad, & Robert sees Sarah as his mum. But like I said to randomguy I didn't even realise Sarah wasn't his biological mother simply because I've never noticed it been mentioned.

He must be scared stiff of losing his job if he is prepared to go along with that nonsense. I'd tell them what they could do.

Yeah that's true-it would have been nice to hear him mention her at the odd point.I would like him to talk to Aaron about her but I doubt that will happen

I think the're all a pretty close happy team at ED so they probably have a good laugh about it.

Yeah I doubt we will ever get a mention, although I think there could have been a point made of it around the times that Robert would say about Andy not been Jack's real son.. I know it's different but either Andy/Vic or Diane may have mentioned something about Roberts biological mother I guess.
I think I'm seeing it from me as a mother myself, I know if I'd have died when I gave birth to my son, then my hubby & another woman brought him up & my son never spoke of me or seen me as his real mum, that's heartbreaking.. of course this is soapland tho lol.

I think it could have been done this way as well.I know exactly what you mean as I would feel the same,thinking of it from that point of view
