I think I'm seeing it from me as a mother myself, I know if I'd have died when I gave birth to my son, then my hubby & another woman brought him up & my son never spoke of me or seen me as his real mum, that's heartbreaking.. of course this is soapland tho lol.”

Yeah, but dramatically I can see how it would be a dead end. No one in the village knows Robert's biological mother and he doesn't remember her. I think its one of those things that would be interesting in real life but not on television. Storylines should have the ability to provide on conflict or drama among existing characters.

I think it could have still been discussed though at points. It would be nice to see what he really feels about it,regardless of whether anyone knew his mother

I don't think he sees her as his mother though. He was lucky that Sarah treated him like her own and from what I remember he was a bit of a mummy's boy.

I suppose it could be brought up every once and again. I just don't think it'd be as interesting as you think.

Robert's feeling about Sarah are more interesting because it loops into is relationship with Andy and Vic.

Yeah I agree, Robert has lost a biological mother & a mother he grew up with & called his mum, in real life he would naturally mention the fact he never knew his birth mother.

Robert also lost an uncle he was close to an older brother he never knew and a half sister who left when he was a baby/toddler, him and Andy should have had therapy throughout there teens, it would have solved a LOT of their problems

Yes I know but I still think it would be natural for him to speak of her in some sort of way

I know what you mean but I think it would amount to a throw away sentence that he never knew her, I think it would be a bigger deal if he didn't have Sarah as he would have spent his childhood pining for a mother figure and probably ended up putting her on a pedestal.

I don't necessarily think it would be hugely interesting to everyone, but I think it would be a nice touch to hear Robert as an adult talk about her, what could have been etc

The half sister, Sandie, is still alive and living in Scotland. Jack, who is not her father, used to mention her.
