Reading through a number of forums, it seems like me, there are an awful lot of people frustrated at the lack of a dedicated Amazon Prime Instant app on quite a number of popular platforms such as Apple TV, Google, Nvidia Shield. It is even more baffling when you see Netflix on almost virtually everything.
It is all very well selling Fire sticks and Fire TV's as a media streamg device but what about those who had already bought and Apple TV or those like me who have a dedicated media set-up to not only stream from Netflix but who stream all of their own media such as Movies, TV and photos. I want to use Nvidia Shield to stream my personal media and be the home of all of my streaming in the lounge. Many will find that Nvidia is one of the most cost effective and powerful set ups for transcoding any movie file and running a Plex server or Kodi.
You sell devices such as Fire TV and Firestick once but millions will rent or subscribe to the streaming service many times over spending on average around £80-£100 a year. Surely like Netflix, you want to make it easy to access your streaming service especially when considering many TV's only have 2 HDMI sockets on the rear taking up the your Sky/Youview/Blu Ray and media centre. Yes you can spend more money buying an HDMI splitter yes you can have an ugly lead coming out the front of the TV.
Sort it out Amazon!
