Filming begins on Monday with the original British drama set to air on BBC One this coming Autumn/Winter. Six one hour episodes have been commissioned by Charlotte Moore.
The creator of Life on Mars/former EastEnders writer, Matthew Graham, has been heavily involved and is said to have written the episodes alongside Lauren Klee and Matthew Barry who also write for EastEnders among other shows.
The majority of filming will be taking place in County Waterford in Ireland, specifically the coastal tourist village, Dunmore East. (with Dublin also expected to feature)
Richie and Wallace (Alfie & Kat) recently told TEN the cast and crew of the spin-off show are mainly Irish and revealed a "big name" would also be taking part. Expect more casting news soon as filming gets underway.
Kat is searching for her son, 'Luke' but it's been teased that there will be a dark secret at the centre of this village. Shane has teased that it is quite dark but it will also have a lot of heart and warmth. The drama has the potential to run beyond one series.
To appear as an extra in the show participants are asked to attend an open casting on Friday (April 1) at the Sailing Club, Dunmore East, between 4-8pm, as well as The Central Arts on The Quay in Waterford on Saturday, April 2 from 12-7pm.

I thought I'd create a thread to keep all the information together. I have high hopes for this. It's great to have the show coming to Ireland. Let's hope they've learned from the 1997 Fowler episodes; DTC, Jessie and Shane are all part Irish so I'm sure they'll do everyone proud.
