Watched this for the first time tonight and really enjoyed it! Great to see Stephanie Beacham back on our screens and the cast is great! (I'm 25 by the way) I noticed age being picked up on this thread...

Sorry to be a pain - but as comedy watchers I was wondering if anyone would kindly participate in my short questionnaire for my dissertation that looks at Irish stereotypes in British comedy? It would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Watched the 2nd ep last night, have to say didn't like the way the male couple were depicted. Not all male couples are like that. As for the stereotyping.....
What's wrong with how they were depicted? Seemed a cool, well-educated couple.

Couldn't find a thread for this (and got tired of searching).

This is a good series. It could easily have been written off as 'oldies in limp comedy' but it's sharp and funny. Philip Jackson's cynical, sarcastic, character Alan is hilarious.
Very good show. Intelligent comedy with older characters. In short supply here in America. If you're not young and bouncy and perky, you're out.

I enjoyed James Smith in The Thick of It, and was happy to see him here. Of course, it's always nice to see Philip Jackson from Poirot. And Tink, from Lovejoy!

It may be over the top, but who cares. There's no bigger pile of steaming over the top than 2 Broke Girls and that show still ticks on with the morons in the U.S.

As to the search engine, it's being updated, so they say. Meanwhile, google the name of the show you want, along with 'digital spy', and bob's your uncle, it finds a thread here. Stupid, right? Right.
