That's it, she may have been worried about mentioning a physical fight, but the very least she should have done is mention that that Lucy was at home at a certain time.

I've only rated the character for about a year & before that I couldn't see why everyone raved about her or Diane Parrish. Denise needs better writing though I hope the new head honcho ensures we see more of her talent.

I really enjoyed her scene last night with Jamie (JJ) under the table and then when she handed him over (reluctantly of course) to his mother. That would be a hard thing to do; I imagine foster parents go through something similar.

Such a hard thing to go through. Those two scenes alone show how good an actress Diane is, lots of subtlety as well as range and depth of emotion explored throughout. Denise has been in it for nearly 10 years now, can't believe she's not had more gripping storylines as Diane is more than capable - I think the character works well when she's got her children around her and has the potential to be an iconic EE matriarch like Peggy/Pauline/Pat/Zainab, if only an executive or story producer could see this.

Again, Diane's acting is great. And again, another pointless Denise storyline ends pointlessly. Back to square one with nothing to show for it. What's next? Looks like the change of life? That should work wonders in the filler storyline department for a few months.

Quit, Diane. Quit.

She was alright as far as characters go but Zainab most certainly wasn't an icon.

It was beautifully played. Such a great scene.

I really liked that storyline where Denise was trapped with Ian after Lucy died. I felt more for her than the Beales.

I thought that was amazing. A woman trapped in a loveless relationship with a grieving fiancé who also knew the relationship was doomed. Really quite clever.

Oh God yes, absolutely. Denise does long-suffering so well; I always feel like she's coming up with some absolutely killer insults in her head.

That was a good one actually. I'd have kept her with Ian. That's the only time it seemed like Denise was in the top tier of characters. She needs to get away from Kim.

Denise problem is that she doesn't have an actual family. When she was with the Beale's the writers treated her like a Beale which is why she was A list once she split from them she went back to Kim and Patrick and basically played second fiddle to their storylines.

Denise needs a love interest. A relationship that the viewers can root for imho. I would hate to lose her from the show. Diane is one of their biggest assets.

^^^

Can't multiquote but yes bumpy and elly, it was a very clever strand to the Lucy plot and I can imagine Denise reeling off some amazing insults. Who can forget the "vaguely racist oven gloves"?!

Mr Arrow, we normally concur on EE females but Denise is fabulous.

She deserves better than being Kim's straight woman.

Yeah, tough one. It could only be worse if the death was on Christmas Day. I mean sheesh, how do you leave someone in that state? You can't. FWIW, Adam Woodyatt's acting during those scenes was brilliant too.

I think on the few occasions she is allowed to shine and have some great scenes she really is very, very good. I still have no idea why they decided to put her with Ian.

Wasn't a good match, and now looking back on them as a couple, does seem a bit ridiculous, but the scenes years ago with Lucas were absolutely brilliant.

She played a very good scene when saying goodbye to JJ last night. Actually brought a tear to my eye.

I think unfortunately though she's one of those characters that often get overlooked for some unknown reason.
I did hear a rumour that she was leaving, though I hope that isn't true.....
