Any reason NOT to sign up to 'stop the clock'

I wonder why they are not just adding this automatically?

Is there a downside that anyone can see

I switched to "stop the clock" today and it does what it says on the tin! ie a 30 minute call to an O2 mobile cost only £1.05 and a 56 minute call to a landline cost only 15p.

Seems good to me and cannot see any catches.

unless they put an 3 min call on all calls not like now once the 3 mins are up it will go down to 5 p

Dunno if this is just online, but it wouldn't let me add it to my existing tariff(cheap & no longer available).

According to the 'my account' section of their website I'd have to change to one of the new tariffs with either less included mins and txts or a more expensive tariff in order to add 'stop the clock'

What about if your call is under 3 mins, do they charge you for a full 3 mins, or for the actual time under 3 mins you use?

Website says it's not available on SmartStep only SmartPlus.

It's not available on SmartStep, no.
If under 3mins, you get charged for what you use.

Thanks for that, it was the reference to an O2 call earlier in the thread that confused me. No wonder i could not find anything on the o2 website.

Does seem to be a bit too good doesn't it....

But read the T&C's, there don't seem to be any catches.

Just watch calls made before or running into off peak wont you.

On contracts they are signing you up for an 18 month contract. Could one of the other networks be preparing to launch a similarly competitive offer?

Oh i'm adding it to my £10pm tariff.

If i maximised i could get 4000 xnet minutes a month . yay.
