Have totally given up on this. Really wanted to like it but find it really dull and boring. Maybe need to save the episodes and watch them back to back but honestly, gave it a go but nothing seems to happen!!!

Yes. It has good moments then really surreal moments. Jude Law is totally unconvincing as the Pope though. Another actor would have been a better choice. It's like watching acting by numbers.

That this thread went for 2 weeks with nothing comment-worthy should tell you something.

Doing well in Italy though I believe, it's getting a second series.

We've got quite into it, I'm interested by what The Pope is planning. Is it wrong that I never used to fancy Jude law until I saw him in the.... 😳

The person asked about the subtitles - these bits are quite important I'm surprised you can still follow what's going on without them?!

I'm glad I stuck with it...it's pretty much everything you would expect from ten hours of Sorrentino - at times bizarre, at times frustrating, funnier than you expect and most of the time, just downright gorgeous to look at - and performance wise, probably the best work Jude Law has ever done.

Not surprised it hasn't picked up a huge UK audience... this really is the epitome of 'auteur tv' and doesn't exactly sit well along the furiously episodic drama we now see as the norm.

It's going to interesting to see this plays in the US next year both critically and with the HBO audience.

Well the Christmas telly is so shyte that we have watched all 9 episodes (started last night). This show was really good, the story kept our interest all the way through and it was darkly comical in places, in other places it was just dark. I hope there is a another series and I want to see what happens to Lenny.

I have questions (in spoilers for those sensitive souls who like to complain a lot)

I'm about half way through and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

It's kept my attention so it's entertaining enough.

I'm also a little bit so what about it all.

There's not much of a story, all the characters are pretty much unlikeable. It lacks soul.

The opening credits are cringeworthy, especially the wink.

The scenes of the vaRican, the art work and Rome are brilliant.

I should of been a political thriller but it's just a charecter study of a pretty unlikely person and situation.

A lot of the characters are not particularly nice, including Lenny in the beginning, but I warmed to him as the series went on.

I thought the wink was quite funny especially as Lenny is always referring to how handsome he is, and how he is better looking than Jesus. However for someone who thinks he is really handsome, he has a strange aversion to having his photo taken or being seen in public. Why?
