Well I would rather Buster leave Shirley or be the one to have an affair instead of it going down the predictable route of Shirley leaving him for Phil.

I want Phil and Shirley back together but Shirley and Buster's relationship is doomed because she is secretly in love with Phil. Buster is a generous man and he is Kathy's type.

I don't mind if Phil and Shirley do get back together but if it happens I'd rather it be because of something unforeseen like a potential Kathy/Buster affair. Instead of it just being the usual Shirley left Buster because she still loves Phil which everyone has expected to happen from day 1.

If Kathy and Buster ended up together I wouldn't want it to be the result of an affair, I'm not overly keen on affair storylines and plus I don't want Shirley and Kathy's friendship to be ruined. Shirley and Phil were a great couple when written well, and could end up back together but this would only be acceptable if Phil chose Shirley because he genuinely loves her.

Agreed. I quite like Buster but I think that Kathy and Phil reuniting would be epic as ian would be furious

Day later Grant returns and Phil ditches Shirley by saying he still loves Sharon and Sharon will fall for Grant once more

Kathy would NEVER have an affair with someone who is taken. She's not that kind of person and I will be annoyed if she is the "other woman". They need to stay as friends only. I know I have to tolerate the forced "friendship" between Kathy and Shirley but Kathy doesn't need any enemies. If that happens, it will be karma for Shirley because she slept with Denise and Sharon's partners.

I think the friendship between Kathy and Shirley has developed naturally and actually works really well.

Why don't the writers do something a bit more original and have Buster and Kathy embarking on a secret affair while, at the same time, Shirley and Phil discreetly get it on? Neither Shirley nor Buster would want to break the other's heart so they end up stringing each other along until both their affairs are exposed simultaneously.

See more of Kathy and Denise's friendship. Kathy and Pam are buddies and I don't want it dropped. If Kathy and Buster sleep together (please no), it means Kathy and Shirley will be at loggerheads. Kathy's not a home-wrecker but DTC has given us so many twists :/
